We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Sherrich Sharper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Sherrich, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my brand is an empowering approach. Every conversation I have with a client, potential client, or partner is meant to inspire and empower. Many of us suffer from low self-confidence when it comes to our abilities, this viewpoint cripples us and we get inside of our head and in our own way. With every conversation, my goal is to show others how valuable, marketable, and successful they are. My brand is one of class, professionalism, and authenticity. I tell my clients the truth. The truth on why they may not be getting a promotion, the truth about why they need to leave their company, or in some cases, stay. I do this by sharing best hiring practices and job search hacks that others may not share. I share information in a down-to-earth and relatable fashion; this has been successful for me for these last 5 years. I want them to be well informed at all times, and empowered with confidence. My work with clients is truly a transformative experience.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have two businesses and I am an author. My first business, ShareTheRich was born in 2015. Through this business, I provide career coaching, small business consultation, HR Services, and I rewrite resumes and other professional documents. I started my second business, Vudeaux Chatte’ in 2018. Through this business, I provide women’s health products. Lastly, I self-published my first self-help book, Wolves in Suits in 2016, and my second book Wolves in Skirts in 2020. Yes, I published a book during a pandemic! I am excited about my upcoming book, Wolves in Packs: Fake Friends in Plain Sight. I am also excited about the new approach I’ve taken to deliver powerful content. One of my hidden talents is impersonating voices. I use this talent to deliver career coaching information, so far it has been well received. Starting and maintaining a business has not been easy, quite frankly, it can get overwhelming at times. From social media marketing to financials, to servicing clients, to keeping your own sanity; being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart. You have to keep a solid tribe beside you, and not let fear and doubt cripple you from expanding, trying something new, and sometimes rebranding altogether. Time management is my success tool. Everything goes on a calendar and on a to-do list. I leave some space in between coaching calls to decompress and get my energy ready for the next coaching client. These small breaks and staying organized, recharge me. I want the world to know that my brand is a trusted, relatable, and fun brand. I offer many services through my businesses and books, there is something for everyone.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to hike and I love good food! A few days during their trip we would visit some of GA’s most beautiful hiking spots. I love Yellow River in Gwinnett County and also the Bamboo Forest in Sandy Springs. I am a seafood lover and most of my friends are too so we would go to a gem in Conyers called Coaxums. Coaxums is black-owned and their food is amazing! On our itinerary would have to be Ponce City Market! They have so many amazing restaurants and cool things to do! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have such an amazing tribe! My friends, family, and husband love on me, check on me, support me, pray for me, laugh with me, and are very honest with me. They hold me accountable and encourage me. Through their support, I have started two businesses and written two books. I want to give them a special shout-out. My husband, Rafael Sharper is my biggest fan and encourages me daily. My friends Elana Brown, Melody Coburn, Jazmyn Evans, Kai Osiapem, Quinton Perry, and Ryan Christian check in on me, share my posts, and tell others about all the services I provide. Lastly, my parents and my brother have always encouraged me to stretch my wings and try. When I succeed or even when I fail, they are always right there to help me get back up. I love my tribe!
