We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Rhonda Savain DNP, RN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Rhonda, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Legacy Nurse Prep and Life Coaching was built to change lives, not just help students pass a test.

For over 22 years, I’ve helped nursing students pass the NCLEX® (nursing licensure exam), and enter the workforce confident and prepared. Every nurse who passes becomes part of the healthcare system that serves our communities. When nurses are strong, patients are safer. Families are supported. Hospitals run better.

Many of my students are first-generation college graduates, single parents, career changers, and people who were told they were not smart enough. I help them build confidence, critical-thinking skills, and test-taking strategies so they can step into high-paying, stable careers. That changes entire families.

Beyond exam prep, Legacy Nurse Prep and Life Coaching focuses on stress management, mindset, and professional growth. Nursing is high-pressure. Burnout is real. I teach nurses how to protect their peace, manage stress, and build long-term careers without losing themselves.

I also mentor nurses who want to grow into leadership, entrepreneurship, and real estate investing. My goal is to help nurses build wealth, not just work jobs. Stronger nurses build stronger families and create stronger communities. That is the impact.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been a nurse for over 38 years. I started as a licensed practical nurse, then became a registered nurse, educator, and now a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I’ve worked at the bedside, in leadership, and in the classroom. That range sets me apart. I don’t just teach theory. I’ve lived nursing at every level.

More than 20 years ago, I co-founded an NCLEX® review company called Ready to Pass. We built it from nothing. No investors. No big marketing team. Just passion, discipline, and results. We helped thousands of nursing students pass one of the most stressful exams of their lives.

What I’m most proud of is impact. I’ve watched single mothers, immigrants, second-career students, and people who failed multiple times finally pass and change their family’s future. That never gets old.

Was it easy? No. I’ve faced burnout, financial pressure, grief after losing my business partner, and the constant pressure of reinvention. When my partner passed away, I had to decide if the vision would die too. Instead, I rebranded and built Legacy Nurse Prep and Life Coaching. That season stretched me. It forced me to lead alone, trust God, trust my experience, and move forward even when things felt uncertain.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is this: success is built in quiet seasons. It’s built when no one is clapping. It’s built when you choose discipline over excuses. I’ve learned that resilience is a muscle. You build it by showing up when times are tough.

What I want the world to know is that my brand is about more than passing an exam. It’s about confidence, ownership, and legacy. I teach nurses how to think critically, protect their peace, and build wealth beyond the bedside. I believe nurses deserve power, income, and options.

My story is not about luck. It’s about consistency. It’s about plotting, planning, and executing. I’m still building.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to Atlanta for a week, we would eat our way through the city and take pictures the whole time. We’d walk the Atlanta BeltLine for the vibe, the art, and the people watching. I love a good photo moment, so we’d stop at every mural, skyline view, and cute patio. Brunch would be loud, food would be amazing, and my camera roll would be full. For me, Atlanta is flavor, culture, and capturing memories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to my late business partner, Derrice Gordon, MSN, RN, FNP. We built Ready to Pass together from the ground up. For over 20 years, we helped thousands of nursing students believe in themselves and pass the NCLEX®.

When she passed away, I had a choice. Close the doors or carry the vision forward. I chose to carry it.

Legacy Nurse Prep exists because of the foundation we built together. Her discipline, integrity, and commitment to excellence still guide how I teach and lead today.

This next chapter is not just mine. It is ours.
