We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Nedra Allen Raye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Nedra Allen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In starting my own business, I was focused on a long term goal to support my family. Since a child fashion and helping others has been my desire. I’ve always been told I have a heart of gold so to me that meant sharing. I came from a family of business owners and their successfulness is my inspiration.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Where do I begin I actually have my doctor in business administration assist people with setting up businesses as well as business credit offer a mentor ship program. I’ve owned a boutique for nine years now called Ondemandessentials. I started my own tax firm in 2017 and nevertheless I’ve been doing taxes since 1998 so with all that experience I decided to take a leap out on faith and start my own firm which was after I received my MBA. I was working a job in accounting department at the second largest manufacturing supplier then one day I decided it wasn’t for me anymore I wanted to do my own business and I’ve been on my own ever since. I always believe in learning I’ve taken several classes to excel. I decided to expand my boutique and add a spot onto it and doing that my phrase for my spa is called Bodied by On Demand. I specialize in the lymphatic massages for people who have had cosmetic surgery, Selling of waist trainers, shapeware, dietary supplements such as drops, weight loss gummy’s, cellulite gel, sweat cream, and body wraps. I’ve also did my share of body cavitation, I love to promote a healthy fine body are you around and not just summertime. Last but not least I also do teeth whitening. Ive been called a serial entrepreneur as I stand on that name with much pride. I am 100% disabled Navy Veteran there’s definitely a lot of pain tears and sweat behind my story. I know what it’s like to work for someone, live paycheck to paycheck, have my share of business goals that make money and some that don’t. Through it all I always keep a positive mind frame because I know God will provide as long as I keep my faith. My biggest challenges has been the economy because when they Konomi is not doing well a business isn’t successful for myself that’s why I try to have so many business ideas lined up so when one idea doesn’t make money one will.
I definitely want the world to know that failure is not an option for me because if I fail I’m failing my family. I’ve always been a go-getter and I will not stay down for too long.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give my first recognition to God for always answering my prayers. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13). My husband, Amari for dealing with my moods and frustrations with business issues but most of all for pushing me no matter what he is business savvy and my motivation. My kids are definitely my inspiration as well when I get new arrivals or any ideas they always say “ Do it mom”, with a pleased smile, I do it.
