Meet Dr. Michael Ho, DC | Chiropractor & Powerlifter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Michael Ho, DC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Michael, what do you attribute your success to?
My father Dr.Jeffrey Ho has been a Chiropractor for 35 years now. I grew up being a pretty active kid, playing tons of basketball as well as getting into powerlifting and weight-lifting later on in life. I as any kid used to get injured all of the time. My greatest asset during these unfortunate events was my dad. We had a chiropractic table in our house. I used to come home frustrated, mad, and discouraged from getting injured. I clearly remember asking my dad if he can help me. That chiropractic table is where a ton of healing and recovery happened by the use of natural chiropractic care. My injuries would subside and I would make a full efficient recovery. Over time I came to realize that I want to be able to do the same thing and have a positive impact on peoples health and wellness. Having him as a role model growing up really made me motivated to become a Doctor of Chiropractic as well. I base our success at Chiro4Sports purely from having a passion to help other people. My dad is the person that made me want to take it to the next level and grow our business through the use of social media and marketing on our own. Back in 2018, while still in Chiropractic school I created a business profile through instagram and started posting about my dad. My goal was to expose him to more people in community here in Alpharetta, GA and at the same time posting about my own journey in becoming a 2nd generation Chiropractor. By the time I graduated, business would be booming. I used to refer to my dad as “The best kept secret in Alpharetta.” He was old school when it came to marketing and bringing new business through the door. I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to take it to the next level. With his skill and experience, and my knowledge in how we can can change his old ways to something new is 100% the factor behind our recent success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our office Chiro4Sports has always been a place of healing. Chiropractic is a form of holistic healthcare that focuses on the spine and nervous system. We use our hands to deliver something called an adjustment. In life things such as thoughts, traumas, and toxins can cause something called a “Subluxation”, a subluxation is the misalignment of 1 or more vertebrae in the spine causing interference and dysfunction within the body. The adjustment is utilized to mobilize joints, create greater range of motion, and most importantly clears the spine of any nerve interference. In other words we mobilize the spine so that the body can function at its absolute best. Health and healing comes from within. We’re not against the use of drugs or surgery, but we’re against the abuse of them. The human body is one of the most magnificent things ever created, and it’s so important to take care of it.
What sets Chiro4Sports from the others is that we’re authentic. When someone comes to our office, we make it a point to be the highlight of their day. We know all of our patients on a personal level and make it a point to listen to their questions and concerns when it comes to their personal goals and issues that they’ve been dealing with. We really take the time to understand what our patients are going through, and do our best to create an optimal solution when it comes to their health. Our care is structure based and we look at all parts of the body (Spine, ankles, elbows, knees etc.) when it comes to becoming a stronger more functional human being. Im most excited to continue this journey in serving the Atlanta community and educating as many people as possible in becoming the best version of themselves through Chiropractic Care. I want the world to know that our brand and mission comes from the heart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve always been a foodie and I love the city of Atlanta. In my opinion Atlanta has a very solid foundation of various ethnic cuisines. If you want authentic asian food, you have to explore Buford Highway, the Mecca of good eats. You have to go get dim sum at Canton House or Oriental Pearl on a Saturday or Sunday morning. You can find the best chinese beef noodle soup at Lan Zhou Ramen. My favorite Cantonese cuisine is at BoBo Garden. You can find the best tacos at El Rey Del Taco, get the asada and pastor meats on their handmade corn tortilla, don’t forget the green sauce. You can go to Ponce City Market and Krog Street in Atlanta to find an awesome Beltine where you can walk for miles and/or even bike. Day drinking is a must there, check out New Realm Brewery and can find the most amazing beef jerky and cocktails at Biltong Bar. Buckhead is where people go at night to fine dine, drink, and party. The BEST steak you can find is at Hal’s “The Steakhouse”, where they serve up the most quality prime steaks and seafood. You have to get to get the 22 oz prime bone in ribeye and the Chilean Seabass. To wash it all down get a martini, which is a whomping 8 oz’s to the brim. After dinner you have to go to Tongue and Groove late to people watch, or you can go sing karaoke in Koreatown off Pleasant Hill Road.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shout out to my father Dr. Jeffrey Ho DC. He’s the one who set the solid set foundation and mentorship for me in becoming a life long learner. I owe our present and future successes at Chiro4Sports to him. Growing up he trained me to be mentally tough, and how no one owes you anything. If you want something you go get it, hard work always pays off. I have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to being the best I can be. Lastly, I want to give a huge shoutout to my mother Kyun Yeun Muh, she is the back-bone in our family. At the age of 16, my mom came to America from South Korea with nothing. My mom was born into the restaurant industry and through much sacrifice and hard work she became a Master Cosmetologist. Growing up watching her work long hours of the day, then coming home to cook and support my father and I is something I will always be grateful for. My moms work ethic, hustle, and determination to succeed has always been something I will never take for granted. Without her love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
