We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr Luna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Antania is a doom bass project that combines doom metal and bass music. It’s an idea that can only succeed through persistence. It’s an attempt to be original and offer a new flavor in dark music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Antania is a doom/bass project from Joshua Tree CA. With a gripping aesthetic paying homage to the “dark side of life” with a strong live show. Antania’s brutal “Doom Bass’ ‘ style incorporates elements of electronica, doom metal and industrial. “Dr Luna ”, the duo’s demented musical maestro, creates Doom/Bass solely with synthesizers and guitar distortion pedals by wrapping distortion around sub-bass. Front-woman Kali Mortem, army veteran, artist featured in the book by Jeremy Saffer “Daughters of Darkness” brings the show with brutal vocals. Catch Antania this year opening for Doyle, Eva O and Six Feet Under.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the Atlanta strip. The Red Light Cafe and t Blind Willies are some of the best places on earth for live music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The band Ministry. Without pioneers in music like that a band like Antania couldn’t exist. How amazing that Ministry is touring with the other artist I would recommend Gary Numan. Both artists are completely revolutionary.
