We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Candice Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Candice, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

I always wanted to start my own business. However, it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic where I got furloughed and it made me realize I needed to pursue developing my beauty brand. Being furloughed came as a shock to me, because I would’ve never thought it could happen and it did!

Another reason behind the development of my health and beauty brand, is that I have family members, friends, and patients who suffer from eczema/atopic dermatitis and it’s very hard for them to find beauty products geared toward sensitive skin. So I wanted to create clean, hypoallergenic products with sensitive skin in mind.

Thirdly, I had a hard time adjusting to being a first time mom and a new grad Optometrist.   I would always put everyone’s needs and wants before my own. This lead to self-neglect, letting myself go, and not prioritizing my self-care. The pandemic allowed me to actually get back into the routine of taking care of myself which included exercising, developing healthy habits, and tapping back into makeup and skincare. I honestly think if I never got furloughed, that I would have not pursued developing my cosmetic line. So it was truly a blessing in disguise.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

As a wife, mother, and Board Certified Optometrist, I wanted to create a health/beauty brand that incorporated two things that I am passionate about which is beauty and eye health. As an Optometrist, I want to be able to educate my audience about the proper way to use makeup and skincare.

With this doctor developed cosmetic line, we have clean products that are non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty free made for inclusive and diverse backgrounds.

It took a lot of research, time, and effort to get this beauty brand off the ground. Our products are freshly made in order to ensure the highest quality. We are excited to share my vision for my beauty brand to make people feel beautiful, clean, and safe.

Our mantra for Visual Eye Appeal Cosmetics is “Visual Attractiveness by Enhancing Your Natural Beauty.” I strongly believe that makeup only enhances the natural beauty that already exists.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends are a great support system for me. I would not be where I am today without the many prayers, words of wisdom, and encouragement from them. So I am dedicating this shoutout to my tribe!
