We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Austin Saxon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Austin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We wanted to bring our unique and thorough brand of chiropractic care and natural healing to our hometown of Woodstock, GA. We use a combination of chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, and laser therapy to create a very effective approach to healing without drugs or surgery. We are very excited to be serving the people of our hometown!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a chiropractor is the best profession in the world. I have the opportunity to meet people of all walks of life and help them with struggles they’re facing. I can’t claim that other doctors don’t genuinely care as much as I do, but I can tell you that I am highly invested in the wellness of my patients. I will go above and beyond with my own hands and my own time to do whatever I can to help my patients. I also am constantly working to stay on the cutting edge of natural healing therapies so that we can serve our patients as well as possible. I am very proud and excited about our unique brand of chiropractic care because I feel that it is “as good as it gets”. Getting here wasn’t easy, but it was a labor of love and worth every minute of the journey. One lesson I’ve learned in practice is that if you make great care the priority rather than the financial outcome, you will be rewarded in more ways than one. We just want the world to know that we can’t wait to take great care of all of the people that we see.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I wanted to show somebody my hometown of Woodstock –
I’d take them wakeboarding on lake Allatoona, then we’d have JD’s on the lake for lunch before heading for a mountain bike ride at Blanket’s Creek. After a great ride, we’d definitely have to head over to Reformation Brewery for a Nolan IPA and a slice of Partner’s Pizza. We’d hang out in downtown Woodstock and grab a slice of Pie Bar pie. Maybe after that, we’d have to grab a cup of Alma coffee for a pick-me-up before heading over to Rope Mill for a paddle down Little River. Finish it all off with a steak at 120 Chophouse, and I’d have to call that the perfect day in Woodstock.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The very first person I have to recognize is my father, Dr. Bob Saxon. He has been in practice for almost 35 years at his practice, Windy Hill Chiropractic, in Marietta. He taught me to love serving people and to be truly dedicated to your patients in your care of them. He is the reason why I am a chiropractor today.
Second, I have to thank my wife, Naomi. She is the driving force behind everything we do, and she is my partner in all things. She is the love of my life, and I could not possibly be luckier to have her. She is strong everywhere I am weak. My son, Rowan, also drives me to be a better man, father, and doctor every day.
I want to thank Zack and Chelsey Green of All Custom Carpentry for their artful carpentry in our office that really made our space feel like our own. They are not only skilled carpenters but also genuinely wonderful people.
I also want to recognize Dr. Ollie Evans and Dr. Darren Surma, both local chiropractors who I have learned from and who continue to motivate me to take great care of my patients. As a chiropractic intern working for Dr. Surma, I learned a great deal about working with patients and also learned about creating a joyful work environment.
Big thanks to Jeff Snow and Mike Pennington of Path & Post Real Estate for their help finding the perfect building for our clinic.
In all of my accomplishments, I am standing on the shoulders of my family and God. Everything I have is because of the support and blessings I have received in life.
