We had the good fortune of connecting with dorian williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi dorian, what inspires you?
id say i’m really inspired by not only my friends but just everyday life. Meeting new people and seeing new things opened my eyes to a lot of different perspectives that carries onto my creativity. Not staying static in one place allows me to be inspired by the things around me

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
recently ive been most proud of my debut album i just released. Its a self titled album that i worked on entirely myself, from recording and production, Its an insane thing to look back to now that its out. It took me a lot of trial and error to get to where i am today, i started my journey in music with dancing to songs in the underground i enjoyed while i was in middle school, my love from music from there got me into production, but at first many people didn’t want me to stop the dancing, that was a huge obstacle, after some time everyone grew to love the beats which i was really happy about. That takes me to today, where im now rapping and also producing my own tracks. A lesson i’ve learned is that truly the only
person that can stop you is yourself, if you think you can accomplish something, its going to happen without a doubt. It’s important to stay patient through that process because it does get discouraging, but it will always be rewarded

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
my favorite spot to hang out would probably be around the little five points area, theres many places to get food, get clothes and just kick it honestly. Atlantic station is another spot which has stores, restaurants, even a grocery store. It does depend on what the person is into though, Atlanta has a bit to offer for everyone.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
id have to credit my older sister, cree, for helping a lot with my journey. My earliest memories are with her, whether it be showing me corbin or yung lean early 2010s, even older drake and nicki. The music she exposed me to very early on put the battery in my back to even want to create music. Even without the music, she’s the reason why i even am who i am today. i cant thank her enough
