We had the good fortune of connecting with Domonique Donegan-Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Domonique, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Deciding to start my own business was a leap of faith. It required pushing out of my comfort zone and trying new things. When I started Best Logistics and Freight in the heart of Arlington Texas. I was so scared but eager. Although the industry of transportation was not new to me but everything as far as the foundation was new and required a lot of hard work and dedication. Its funny when people hear trucking/transportation they aren’t expecting women to be owners or logistic operators, but guess what women are coming through with an approach for the greater good. It has been challenging and rewarding. Since I have started my very own trucking and transportation company we are ramp up to 3- 18 wheelers under our own authority in a little a 12-months. I have written a book on how to start and run your own trucking company called ”Underground Play book 10 days to start your trucking company. I said all this to stay I took risks not knowing my outcome. So you should too
What should our readers know about your business?
Best Logistics and Freight has strict core values, dignity and respect. We value every client and carrier we work with. They are the main reason why we are in business today. It excites us to have the pledger to work with fortune 500 company on the market in today times. Being a start up company has had it’s up and down especially with COVID-19 around many company were require to cut back, but being available and ready when the phone rings was/is always a great option. Best Logistics and Fright was able to land a contract with the state of Texas during Covid-19. That really gave us a boost and it excited us. It helped us transition into the trucking side as well as logistics. As of 2022 Best Logistics and Freight offer broker services, trucking consulting, and courses all under one roof. I myself think starting in the transportation industry was yet one of the best decision I have had because being a black women own business in transportation is not ordinary. Transportation is know as a males’ world that women around the world is joining everyday. #womenintransportation

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The journey began when I trusted God’s plan instead of my own. I was placed in a position where my original plan needed redirection.
My mentor Dr. Cassandra Bradford introduce a lot of knowledge and support into me my brand/business and of course my husband Orlando influence me a lot being that he has 20 plus years of experience in transportation and logistics.
