We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Shepherd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I just felt like it was something that I was meant to do. I love to entertain and make people laugh and feel good. Plus I always felt like I was too unordinary for an ordinary job.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The thing that sets me apart from others is my attitude. I’m extremely competitive and I believe that if someone else can do it I can do it too. I’m most excited about what the future holds for me. I work and study hard everyday to get better at my craft plus I know a lot of people who I can learn every more from as I grow in this industry. I got to where I am just be being me and being hungry to do more. Your personality can really take you far. Not everyone is going to be like you so just by being myself really helped me get to where I at. Of course I had to put other work in too. This journey wasn’t easy and trying to maintain my living situation and pursue my dreams is probably the most challenging thing I have ever done but it definitely been worth it. The main lessons I’ve learned was to be patient, never give up, put your all into what you want, and don’t be afraid to take risks. I want the world to know that I’m up next and that it’s just a matter of time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not gonna lie I don’t really go out much but I do love hiking Stone Mountain from time to time. Also I love tacos so I eat at El Indio in Lawrenceville a lot
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this to all the people who always show me love and support. Especially my mom
