We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Nyquil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Our culture has a stagnant and outdated idea that success has to come from going to school, getting a 9-5, and working hard for minimum gains just to get by. No passion, just hard work. I, for one, never cared for that thought process. I love my profession of being a DJ, and I make enough money to live comfortably by doing just that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a DJ, I do a lot more than just “press buttons”. I entertain my audience. Coming from unique and creative blends to witty comments on the mic, I stay engaged to keep the energy and vibes good.

I just kept practicing and working to get better on the technical aspect and on the networking aspect. I moved to Atlanta during covid when everything was shutdown and the moment they started opening up, I started going to DJ auditions.

It was pretty easy to get where I am today. The only “challenge” is to keep getting better and reach higher heights.

I’ve learned you cant please everyone when it comes to entertainment. If you have a crowd of 100 people, there will always be at least 1 person who doesnt like what you play and the truth is… thats ok.

I want the world to know that I love what I do, and this is what I will do.
