We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Luii Alva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
What makes my brand successful and what I live by to maintain success in this industry is consistency. As an entrepreneur, consistency has to be one of your main priorities. The success of my brand is more that just showing up to a venue and killing it on the set. There is a lot of back end work that the public does not see to make sure that my brand keeps the success it has.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I believe sets me apart from others is my style and my involvement in both the Latin and HipHop side of the industry. Being a very versatile DJ and knowing how to read a crowd on both sides of each community. What I am most excited about is to see where this journey takes me. I have goals for myself as far as being a DJ and everything I want to accomplish while in the game but I know God had bigger plans for me and I believe that my skills and love for this art will take me there. Like I mentioned before I got to where I am professionally today by staying consistent. My work ethic and dedication to the game open many doors for me. It definitely is not easy being an entrepreneur is a 24/7 job that seems endless but what I can say is this, when you do what you love for a living it never feels like a job. What I have learned along the way is that staying in your lane will get you further than trying to worry about what everyone else is doing. Never focus on another person’s success only worry about where you are and how you can make yourself better. To the world or anyone who is reading this I want to let you know that all of this started as a dream and anything is possible, Do what you love and stick to it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being from ATL there are a lot of great food spots to hit up in the city. First I got to shoutout the staple, the place that no matter if the world was ending it will always be open and that is Waffle House. When you’re in the A that’s a must! When people from out of town come to the A they are always looking forward to getting some wings but not everyone’s wings hit in the A, If you want some good wings the best place to find them are in Magic City Kitchen. Now don’t hate me for this but I am the type of guy who gate keeps i share to obvious ones but I can’t give too many of my gems.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my supporters. There are too many people to say but to those who have contributed to my success whether it was through sharing, liking or commenting on my posts, referring me for a booking, or showing up to the events I DJ for the love is incredible. THANK YOU!
