We had the good fortune of connecting with Dileep Kotireddy, Srinidhi Moram, and Nidhi Gadekar, and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dileep, Srinidhi, Nidhi, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Through this journey, there were many habits that helped us succeed such as time management, adaptability, and having effective communication. As high schoolers, having good time management skills is essential as it allows us to balance our academics but also pursue our passions. Prioritizing tasks and setting deadlines have especially allowed us to stay organized. Additionally, learning to be adaptable has also allowed us to deal with setbacks. However, by being open to new ideas and adjusting studies, we’ve been able to get even better outcomes. And lastly, having effective communication is arguably the most useful habit that has allowed us to succeed. By having effective communication, we’ve been able to set up partnerships with other organizations and communicate effectively with our leadership team.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Young Athlete Aid is a non-profit organization, run by high school students. Dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of young athletes in communities lacking proper equipment. Our mission is two-fold: firstly, to supply essential safety and first aid gear and secondly, to bridge the gap in education and awareness regarding safety precautions and potential injuries. With just three high-schoolers at the beginning, it was hard to manage running the accounts, reaching out to schools and clinics, and holding events. However, we were able to overcome this by bringing more people onto the team.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a week-long trip in Atlanta, I would kick it off with a visit to Ponce City Market where we can buy food from local vendors. Next, I would also make a visit to the Georgia Aquarium. One of the biggest aquariums, the Georgia Aquarium is renowned for its commitment to conservation efforts. Afterward, we could take a walk in Centennial Park, one of Atlanta’s landmarks. And lastly, we could stop at Atlanta’s Botanical Garden where we can find lush greenery and flowers.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to recognize the rest of our officer team: Medhya, our PR director, Shania, our Outreach Director, and Samyuktha, our Secretary. Their collaborative efforts have been essential in driving the mission of Young Athlete Aid allowing us to make a positive impact on our community. We are so grateful for our officer team for their invaluable contributions!
