We had the good fortune of connecting with Didi Paulini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Didi, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be about impact—about using storytelling as a force for change. I want people to remember me not just as a filmmaker or producer, but as someone who created spaces for unheard voices, who championed diversity, and who believed in the power of art to transform lives. Whether through e-Teatro WeDo!, my films, or my work in digital media, I hope to leave behind a world where more people feel seen, heard, and empowered to share their own stories. Because at the end of the day, our stories outlive us, and I want mine to be one that inspires others to believe in their own potential.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is all about storytelling that bridges creativity, technology, and impact. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of stories—how they shape perspectives, spark conversations, and create connections. That’s why my career has spanned multiple formats, from films and documentaries to digital platforms and live experiences.

What sets me apart is my ability to merge creativity with strategy. Coming from a background in Economics before diving into filmmaking, I’ve developed a unique approach—one that blends artistic vision with a deep understanding of production, funding, and audience engagement. This balance has allowed me to not only create but also sustain and grow ambitious projects.

I’m particularly proud of initiatives like Transcendence, a documentary that gives voice to transgender individuals, and e-Teatro WeDo!, a platform that reimagines how audiences engage with theater in a digital space. These projects aren’t just about entertainment—they’re about accessibility, representation, and pushing the boundaries of what storytelling can do.

But getting here wasn’t easy. Switching careers meant stepping into the unknown, facing rejection, and building everything from the ground up. Independent filmmaking and creative entrepreneurship come with constant challenges—funding, logistics, proving your vision to others. But I’ve learned that resilience is everything. Every setback is an opportunity to adapt, refine, and push forward.

If there’s one thing I want people to take away from my journey, it’s that success isn’t about a straight path—it’s about persistence, reinvention, and staying true to the stories you believe in. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to take risks, to challenge norms, and to use their voices to create something meaningful. Because at the end of the day, storytelling isn’t just about the stories we tell—it’s about the impact they leave behind.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta, I’d make sure they got a mix of great food, culture, and fun experiences.

For food, we’d definitely hit up Verde in Brookhaven for the best queso and tacos—simple but unbeatable. I’d also take them to Ponce City Market for a little bit of everything, The Optimist for amazing seafood, Home Grown for some real Southern comfort food, and The Consulate for incredible food and cocktails with a globally inspired menu. For drinks, we’d check out Jojo’s Beloved, a cool retro cocktail bar, and The Clermont Lounge, because no Atlanta trip is complete without that experience.

For things to do, we’d walk the BeltLine, visit the High Museum of Art, and maybe catch a show at The Eastern or The Fox Theatre. If we’re feeling adventurous, a hike at Stone Mountain would be a great escape from the city. And of course, we’d squeeze in a visit to the Georgia Aquarium—it’s one of the best in the world.

Atlanta has so much to offer, but great food, music, and a little bit of adventure would make for the perfect trip!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first step into the creative world was incredibly hard because I didn’t have much support. I came from a different career, and the arts weren’t something I had planned for. I had no idea where to start or how to navigate this new path—I was just researching here and there, trying to figure things out on my own. No one around me really had the answers. But once I fully stepped into the creative world, everything changed. I met incredible people—friends who believed in me, who worked alongside me on independent projects, who spent day and night on set making my dreams happen. I can’t appreciate them enough, and while there are too many to name, they all played a huge role in shaping my journey.
