We had the good fortune of connecting with Diane Homer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diane, what do you attribute your success to?
I firmly believe in staying true to myself and that is the number one factor behind my brand. I am a hard worker, ambitious and determined. I know what I want my clients to experience when they book me and I strive to achieve that every day. Staying true to yourself allows the right clients to find you and also attracts your tribe of like minded women.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Diane Homer Makeup specializes in On Location Makeup Services for Weddings and Special Events in Atlanta, GA and the Southeast. I have 16 years experience in the beauty industry. I am known for my professionalism, organization and calming influence. I am originally from Scotland, so I would say that sets me apart from others. I’ve never met another Scottish Makeup Artist in Georgia! I personally hate the sound of my own voice but everyone else seems to love it! I have created a business that I am very proud of. I came to Atlanta from England not knowing anyone, nine years later I’m a wife, mom of two boys, business owner and thankful for so many lasting friendships in my life. Running your own business is not easy. There are challenges for sure! Time is my biggest challenge, there are not enough hours in the day. I take advantage of the quieter months to organize the “back end”side of the business making sure that everything is up to date and my kit is organized and replenished. I also use this time for further education. The beauty industry is fast paced, I enjoy keeping up with current trends, products and techniques. I honestly love it and wouldn’t have it any other way. Please be assured if you contact me for makeup services communication will be consistent throughout. I pride myself on building lasting relationships with my clients, I listen to your needs and provide a customized Makeup Look that you will love. I can’t wait to work with you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend in town for a week these places would definitely be on the Itinerary: ACTIVITIES Georgia Aquarium Atlanta Botanical Gardens Atlanta Beltline Stone Mountain Winery (There are so many Chateau Elan & Wolf Mountain are my favs) SHOPPING Avalon Phipps Plaza Lenox Mall North Georgia Premium Outlets DINING Egg Harbor Cafe Breadwinner Cafe & Bakery Marcel Canoe Murphy’s Rumi’s

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing husband Chris. I wouldn’t be where I am today without his constant support, love and encouragement. I also want to credit my lovely friend/mentor Lillian Smith, owner of The Smith Agency. She came into my life as a client and now she is one of my biggest supporters. Lastly, my brides, clients and followers.. I definitely wouldn’t be here without you guys. Thank you for choosing and trusting me. I love that you are on this journey with me and I am so excited for what’s to come.
