We had the good fortune of connecting with DeVannah & Vikiah Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeVannah & Vikiah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
To take risks calls for blind faith. It is a blindfolded journey at times in just trusting God. Our journey will allow us, to process and gain valuable information all while taking note of our experiences. Life is meant to give us situations where failure is the result. It is shaping us. As Les Brown has said, “If can look up, you can get up and try it again”, but from another angle in which success is bound to happen with persistence. As a backstory, iVannah means “Gift from God” it is our mission to execute the task or assignment at hand and steward to our clients where we create a space or environment where clients can have a peace of mind and feel good mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. We can no longer stay in fear. We must keep pushing to our goal of financial peace for self and generational wealth for our kids. The risk we have taken so far has greatly affected our business and has been a test of our faith and slowly defining how we think of ourselves. We love it, because it really is a mindset shift. There is no stopping us as our purpose is being molded and will forever evolve.

What should our readers know about your business?
iVannah Wellness Spa & Recovery was birthed from our attraction to enhance self-care and self-love.

We are registered nurses, that have worked in numerous roles from primary care, dialysis, ICU, COVID units etc. Nurses embody the role of compassion on a day to day basis, which in turn can take a toll on our mental health, we also know as the role of the caregiver (ie son, wife, daughter, family) it can also take a toll. We know that if mental health is not addressed that, disease can manifest. So to break up the monatany, we wanted to open up a spa that will inspire individuals to see there worth and have a chance to take care of themselves. We all know we cannot take care of others if the well is dry. We need to fill our tank.

We are proud of our growth and determination, iVannah has the ability to be amazing, and we truly see ourselves building that from dream to reality. It has not been easy, but what is easy, don’t believe in it lol. We believe in the Almighty GOD, he will take us to where we aspire to be and beyond. The #1 lesson we are learning is to take fear out of the equation, because it cannot exist to win & grow.

So here at iVannah Wellness Spa & Recovery we offer body contouring, wood therapy, waxing, laser hair removal, teeth whitening, sauna detox and post op recovery. We EDUCATE as well . We are stationary and mobile/concierge across states. We plan to eventually expand our services, and have a location in FL.

It is important to have “crazier faith”, everyone has the potential to excel beyond imagination, it takes just starting like we did, we are building that foundation to get to the rooftop, before we reach the rooftop we must be willing to lay our EGO aside and grow and not be selfish in helping others attain the same or even more.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The SPA of course lol.

No, but I would take them to the Botanical Gardens here in ATL, I say this because I am at peace when I’m in nature, and the landscaping of the area is breathtaking. Parks like Piedmont Park is another great option.

Martin Luther King exhibit and other historical monuments in the city would be a definite on the list, as we must thank our ancestors for paving the way for our freedoms which allows us to excel no excuses.

Cannot forget Coca Cola factory, Centennial Park, or Aquarium.

Taco Tuesday is a MUST. Slutty Vegan is a MUST. But honestly there are a lot of restaurants or longes that are great, love the diversity and not the chains in our city.

Black Wall Street. Seeing other black-owned businesses is inspiring.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, GOD because he is in connection to our experiences without GOD LIFE is not possible.

Our parents Donnell Kennedy-Samuel & Victor Gardner Sr. have been an inspiration from day 1. They have taught us numerous principles that to this day we stick to, but what drives us the most, and I believe we both can agree that “Failure is not an option”, we both have had numerous setbacks, but persistence has gotten us to where we are now. Nothing is free, we earned our accomplishments. So I’m forever grateful to our parents for instilling in us that we can get whatever we want with putting the work in.

To family whether it be our husband, partner, grandparents, step parents , or kids, we thank you for your role in each seasons of our life’s. As mentioned before, we are forever evolving, and with the insights of our beloved family we are grateful.

To every experience (ie book reading, classes, tutorials, motivational speaker etc.) we thank you for being apart of our personal development.
