Meet Destiny Love | Actress, Model & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destiny, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic career because it’s been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. At first, I dreamed of being a singer—largely inspired by Hannah Montana—but as time went on, I realized I had a love for all three: acting, singing, and modeling. Even at five years old, I was throwing concerts in my bedroom, complete with tickets, outfit changes, and all the energy of a real performance. Those childhood moments were a glimpse of where my heart was leading me.
Being in talent shows and pageants helped prepare me for the stage and gave me the confidence to express myself. My dad, who was a piano player and songwriter, also played a big role in shaping my artistic path. He would have us put on talent shows at home, which made creativity and performing a normal part of life.
What I love most about being an artist is the opportunity to create something new, embody different characters, and explore sides of myself that I might not show in everyday life. It’s a way of connecting with people and telling stories that inspire, entertain, and sometimes even heal. For me, art is not just a career—it’s a calling.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m incredibly excited about a show I have a recurring role in, Beyond the Gates, premiering on February 24th! I play Laura Peterson, a character who reflects so much of my personality, which makes this role even more special. The show is groundbreaking, being one of the first Black soap operas on CBS in years, and you’ll be able to stream it on Paramount and CBS. Landing this role was a major milestone for me, and I truly believe it happened because of my tenacity, faith, and big dreams.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. The entertainment industry comes with its challenges, especially during times like the pandemic and the actor’s strike, which added layers of uncertainty. Despite the hurdles, I never stopped working on my craft and striving to be the best I could be, no matter the circumstances.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned—and am still learning—is that you won’t always be everyone’s favorite, and that’s okay. Not everyone has the same taste whether it be in food, shows, or art, and that’s what makes the world so diverse. What matters most is that I’m proud of my work and the effort I’ve put into it, even though embracing this truth can sometimes be easier said than done.
What I want people to know about me and my story is that no dream is ever too big. Keep reaching for the stars, no matter what anyone says. Have faith, believe in yourself, and trust in God’s plan over your own. My journey has taught me that perseverance, faith, and authenticity can open doors you never imagined.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing I’m incredibly proud of is being from the beautiful state of Georgia. Growing up in Gwinnett and moving to Atlanta at 18 gave me the chance to experience the best this city has to offer ! If my best friend was visiting, I’d definitely take them to Ponce City Market. It’s such a vibe with all the shopping, cool spots, and the BeltLine right there—perfect for walking around and soaking it all in. Shopping is my thing, so we’d hit up Buckhead Village and Atlantic Station too. They’re always hosting fun events, and the energy is just unmatched.
For some outdoor fun, we’d chill at Piedmont Park or hike up Stone Mountain—the views there are so worth it. And we’d have to end a day at Skyline Park at Ponce City Market, playing rooftop games and looking out at the city lights. Atlanta’s got this mix of excitement and chill vibes that makes it impossible not to have a good time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a big shoutout to my family, especially my mom. She spent countless hours taking me to lessons, workshops, and training sessions, and she pushed me out of my stage fright through pageants. She’s been my biggest supporter from the very beginning, always encouraging me to chase my dreams fearlessly.
Both of my parents deserve so much credit because they never questioned my desire to become an actress or suggested I have a backup plan. Instead, they believed in me wholeheartedly and supported me in every possible way.
Most importantly, they raised me with a strong foundation in faith and a belief in God, which is the only reason I’m here today. God has guided my steps and made everything possible, and for that, I am forever grateful. Without Him and the love and support of my family, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
