We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destiny, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Betting On Myself . And I Say That Because It Was A Scary Thing , Because I Didn’t Always Know What I Was Doing . It Wasn’t Always Easy . So When I Decided To Put Myself Out There As A Hairstylist I Was Going Off Of A Hope & A Dream .
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So It’s Actually Kind Of Crazy , I’ve Been Doing Hair For 10yrs Now . Im 26 And A Self-Taught Hairstylist . I Literally Taught Myself Everything I Know . From The Old Techniques To The New ..
Was It Easy You Ask ? Honestly It Was . I Think The Thing For Me Was Getting My Work Out There , And Bringing In More Clientele . So I Switched Up The Promo And Started Doing A Few Things Differently And The Clients Came Rolling In .
The Lessons I Learned That Stuck With Me ALL MONEY ISN’T GOOD MONEY ! EVERY CLIENT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND !
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly It Depends On The Friend . I Know Thats Crazy To Say , But Its True
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly My Clients . They Do Their Big One When It Comes To Support , Constructive Criticism , And Reassurance . They’re On Top ! They Never Let Me Forget Where I Came From Or How Far I’ve Came . And For That Im Appreciative And Grateful
