Meet Destin Benai | Fashion Agency CEO / Event Planner / Model / Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Destin Benai and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destin, what do you attribute your success to?
In the fell clutch of circumstance, perseverance in faith is the key to my success. Many doubtful nights has driven my confidence to an all-time-low, and the lack of motivation drove me into a deep depression. Convinced myself that my passion and love for success had died, and I was willing to be complacent with this great life. However, once I reached the bottom of my mental endless pit, I began to realized that the lifter of my head created me to live abundantly and happily. Soul searching has been my biggest contributor, because it found my perseverance deep within my insecurities. From that moment, I began to speak things as they were into my atmosphere, and regained my faith to see my purpose again. From then on, perseverance in faith has been the key to success. Always remember, behind every no, there is a possibility for a yes. If you’re wondering, “what if I’m not good enough or I don’t have what it takes?”…how would you know if you don’t try.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m the proud founder and CEO of Upper Echelon Modeling & House of Benai. My organizations supports local and small business brands who’s looking for exposure. We provide photo shoots, business exposure opportunities, and incorporate such brands into our popular fashion shows that gains multiple forms of influence. I’m ecstatic that my vision has carried me to produce two successful fashion shows, and gain an astounding repertoire of models, Due to my impact in the area, the process of starting up was less difficult than expected, but the true grit was shown in the production of the shows. Nonetheless, the show must go on because greatness will prevail.
During the off season of my fashion shows, I spend my time event planning open mic nights, karaoke nights, galas, concerts, and college nights at local bars. My clientele has increased for various events, and I’m blessed to have opportunities that’s excelling me into my dreams, On the other hand, I’m diligent in my creative directing skills, because that’s a venture that takes a creative eye for a readjustment in trends. I’ve directed for Draymond, MikeX, and different artists and creatives that has shown passionate talent. Alongside working with creatives, I produce music that is currently being orchestrated for an upcoming debut album. My current discography is out on all platforms by the name ‘Destin Benai’.
In the midst of all of my business ventures, my modeling portfolio is continuously growing, while I network with various creatives and photographers to create business relationships that can provide for one another. My plate is full, but I know that hard work pays off in the end. I’ve learned to take every opportunity to the heart, and treat it like my first gig. If nothing else, I want the world to know that this is only the beginning, and one great day we will all be able to eat at the table.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from a small town, makes Atlanta seem like a endless city; however, I’m soaking up every scene there is to see. I’ve had a great time at Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar because of their great friendly service and energy. For a good brunch spot, Boogaloo was the go-to location for great food, great hookah, and the collapse fan action. During the day time, a nice visit to Ponce City Market and Centennial Park on a sunny day provides a nostalgic ambiance. After a day of sight seeing and eating, let’s top the night off at Opium Night Club.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s been a great amount of helping hands who molded me to be the greatness I’m growing to be. It wouldn’t be right, if I left out the key to my life, my biggest supporter, my mother and brother, Belinda H. and T.J. Thank you to my home church, in Dothan, Alabama, Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church for instilling the tools needed to remain humble and patient. Thank you to the following organizations for having me as a member and executive leader: – 101 E.L.T.E Men of Troy
– Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity
-Humbled Hearts
-House of Benai
-Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C Inc.
Without you, I wouldn’t be the leader I am today!
Lastly, thank you to all of my friends and loved ones that I have crossed paths with along the way in this life. Your time and love drives me everyday to work hard to let you know that I’m doing this for all of us.
