We had the good fortune of connecting with Destanie Render and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Hey my name is Destanie I am from Atlanta, Ga. I started my teeth whitening business because when I was younger I was always less confident about my smile. Once I got braces and got them taken off I got a lot of compliments about my smile and how my teeth were so white. Ever since then I thought about how I could help other people be more confident about theirs as well. I just wanted to be able to give people the same confidence with a brighter smile.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I take pride in my work and making sure my clients are satisfied with the results. Starting a business is not easy but I put all my fears of failing aside and went for it. Along the way I’ve learned I need to put myself and work out there so I can help people gain self confidence with a brighter smile.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to downtown Atlanta. There’s so many lounges and bars to go to. One of my favorite spots is the boiler in buckhead because I LOVE seafood. I have a lot of promoter friends so I would introduce my friend them and we’d party the night away. We would go to the battery and drink at Fat Tuesday. On a chill night like maybe Sunday I would take them to go bowling at bowlero in Atlantic station because the atmosphere is very youthful and fun. The music, food, and drinks is amazing so we would definitely have a good time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a special thanks to my friend, U’nia, she’s the one that gave me the idea to start my business. My mentor, Porscha gave me all the information I needed to start my business and how to run it successfully. Lastly my mother for giving me the encouragement I needed so I wouldn’t give up.
