We had the good fortune of connecting with DeShae Weatherlly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeShae, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was the idea of leaving my kids with something to take over and not having to work for anyone and being unhappy, they will be able to see that you can do what you want/love and be successful, rather they take over my business or start their own, they will know it is possible because mommy did it.
What should our readers know about your business?
What set me apart from others is my personality that I put behind my work. I proud of how far doing nails has gotten me, a lot of people don’t see the potential in your craft until that craft is getting you everything you asked for. I got here by not giving up on my potential it wasn’t easy because things do happen where you want to give up but I didn’t want to work someone strict schedule I enjoyed making my own schedule even if I had to stay up longer than needed, I was doing what I love so it didn’t matter what hours I put into my business, I had that choice to put in whatever hours I wanted to when I wanted. I have learned that you get out what you put into your business, its only going to be as successful as you put in. The lessons I’ve learned is to not let anyone or anything change your mind about your business. I want the world to know that my brand will be known in the nail industry, Mo’Krylix, I set out to help beginner nail techs when its comes to good quality products when starting their nail career, I want them to have confidence in their work and what they are spending their money on because their story will start with finding the right product.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I wish I could answer this question but I am such a homebody I would need to look up hotspots for myself to go out. However I do enjoy just about anything when I do find somewhere to go.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my mom Charlena for buying me my first nail kit, my cousin Shantel for being my practice hand for 11+ years, my mentor Gary B Roane for giving me the opportunity to work in his shop to see if doing nails was really what I wanted to do, shoutout to everyone that has supported me on my long journey to where I am now because without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.
