We had the good fortune of connecting with Deige Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deige, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

My thought process to start my own business was a long one. I call myself the plug because every day someone comes to me looking for “an answer”, and I always can provide that. Originally, I wanted to provide those answers through a lifestyle blog with friends. When I approached them with the idea they declined to participate. Eventually I started a fashion blog but it still wasn’t the business I was looking for. I had a baby and took time to regroup. Graphic design was where I landed. I had gone to school for graphics and always ran from it for some reason. So, once I decided to really go for it, I created my brand/business around what I know and do the best…me! Deige Williams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I’m proud that I have continued to thrive. It’s not easy because clients expect magic immediately and don’t always understand what it takes to do what you do for them. I’ve learned to provide consistent, great quality work as well as protect myself from clients who don’t respect my craft. I’m most proud to say that I’ve worked with known local names and in 2021 my sales were up 55%.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I’m thankful to all my clients who use me and refer me for not only all of their branding and graphic needs but also for including my work in all of their milestone moments socially.
