We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee & Kee Of Destination Kingdom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dee & Kee, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Kee: Balance?! What balance?! LOL I’m dispelling the myth of balance and more so living my life by what is the highest priority for that season. I’m actively learning to incorporate things that are important to me to help me keep my sanity and enjoying the moment while remembering what is important.

Dee: Literally laughing out loud! But forreal, it’s a work in progress. My life has changed a lot recently and I’m figuring it out day by day. This mostly consists of trying to come up with a schedule and sticking to it (a daily struggle), leaving work at work and not bringing it home, and dividing the rest of my time between the brand, my goals, my puppy, and my fiancé.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are actually friends and have journeyed together through life’s challenges. The chemistry that we have spills over into our work and makes us relatable to our listeners on a deeper level. We are most proud of our ability to highlight our differences and using them to enhance the brand. We have had the privilege of not only being best friends, but also learning to navigate a business and incorporate our ideas and personalities into the success of it. We are only here because of God. Honestly, as churchy as that may sound, it is the truth. We ran from this “idea” for over a year and when the pandemic hit, it pushed us to step out on faith and use our voices to answer the call we had been given. It definitely was not and IS NOT easy. Because it required a level of vulnerability that we would not normally share with others. We were scared for a long time, but when you hear the impact that is being made in response to your obedience it gets a little easier and more comfortable with time. We just did what we felt like we were supposed to be doing and navigated the challenges as we went along. Business and friendship is not for the weak at heart. We definitely had to learn how we operate in the business realm and not let our bestie conversations interfere with business time. We just want the world to know that we don’t have it all figured out, we are just two friends that decided to give the world some insight into our journeys of growth as we figure out how to make Christianity and culture meet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hike Kennesaw or Stone Mountain, Seafood, BQE, Café Circa (only if Erica Dawson is performing though), silent party, Karaoke, Sivas, Aquarium, Dr. King Museum, Grits and Jelly Butter performances, and honestly cook at the house, have some wine and watch a movie or YouTube.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely the REAL Friends! For those that are unfamiliar with us, these are our loyal listeners, the people that we have met along this podcast journey, and the ones that knew us from back in the day and continuously show support for us walking in our purpose.
