We had the good fortune of connecting with De’Angela Pippen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi De’Angela, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to be able to create pieces that shows off each clients feelings, moods or even fashion with artistic jewelry.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets my brand apart is I do custom handmade work. I make my own photo charms . All at home. I left my Career in mental health too pursuing my dream. It wasn’t easy it took 5 years to finally let go . I networked and got my feet wet doing modeling and clothing designing . Fashion shows anything to show my creative side . Branching off into jewelry was not my goal . Creating was. I started doing Waistbeads first and that’s how I started my business. It came from a dark place in my life. I learn to trust your crazy ideas. Don’t worry about who’s doing what. Don’t worry about lack of support. Give quality work.

My story is I fought depression and created a multi thousand business with some string and beads . I create work of art with jewelry. I overcame fear and followed my goals . I let nothing stop me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God! My mother she always allowed me to live out loud. My sister rip who always rooted for me to win and my granny who loved me unconditionally.
