We had the good fortune of connecting with DayPaint Owners and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DayPaint, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We love business, entrepreneurship, learning, and solving problems. It gives us the opportunity to professionally and personally grow while also connecting as a family. We decided to come together to use our unique skillsets to further explore entrepreneurship in the painting industry.
The painting industry holds a special place in our hearts since our dad was a contractor and we grew up watching him paint. We decided to create DayPaint after observing the issues of the painting industry for many years. We created DayPaint with three goals in mind: 1) Transform our customers’ lives through color 2) Restore the painting industry’s reputation 3) Create a second-to-none work culture.
1. Transform Lives through Color
Life can be hectic, but your home is your sanctuary, a place to unwind and relax. It’s where you make memories with your friends and family and can be a place where you express yourself. We help transform your space to reflect your personality, style and desired mood.
2. Restore Painting Industry Reputation
The contractor industry in general doesn’t have a stellar reputation. Many homeowners are afraid of being taken advantage of and don’t want to be the one to add to the list of contractor horror stories.
We have a deep desire to make an impact by helping our industry be more professional, organized, and trusted. We want to be a company that homeowners look to help them transform their homes into beautiful space that they love.
3. Second to None Work Culture
We strive to create a company culture where our employees love coming to work, can serve the community, and are fulfilled and happy human beings.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We all have very different backgrounds and expertise and we brought our unique experiences together to help shape our company.
Tammie carries a Masters in Accounting and spent the last decade as a Controller for enterprise businesses around the country. She provides financial, legal, human resource, and overall leadership oversight for the business.
Rachel has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photographic Imaging with a further concentration in Illustration and Graphic Design. She’s had years of experience in designing logos and creating digital art. With DayPaint, Rachel develops marketing and branding concepts that are impressive, expressive, and compelling. Having an artist background and meticulous attention to detail, Rachel also provides DayPaint’s custom mural services.
Anna worked as an apprentice to our father for over a decade to become an expert painter. Anna manages all in-field operations and has helped countless homeowners navigate the process of transforming their homes. She works tirelessly to ensure every completed project exceeds customer expectations in excellence, quality, and overall client experience.
Jada’s Bachelor of Music degree taught her how to overcome and preempt challenges by breaking down complex problems and strategically implementing effective solutions. As a Georgia Army National Guard soldier, Jada has spent her career managing and implementing organizational policies, procedures, and risk mitigation. With DayPaint, Jada is integral in maintaining systems and processes that keep our core values at the forefront of everything we do.
Building a company from scratch is not easy. All the late nights, long meetings, and continuous growth and learning that is required can be uncomfortable at times. We get through it by reminding ourselves that this is a journey that will undoubtedly have some twists and turns. The only thing that we can do is learn from our mistakes and try to be just 1% better than yesterday because we want DayPaint to be the best that it can be for our employees and for our customers.
We strive to offer a different experience than many people may be used to when it comes to working with a contractor. We work closely with homeowners to provide beautifully painted homes while promoting trust through education and transparency (especially with pricing). From the very first time a homeowner speaks with our sales representative to the final days of the project, we work tirelessly to ensure our customer’s vision becomes reality and that they have an amazing experience. We want their home transformation to be a story that they’re proud to tell.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All of the business owners and entrepreneurs that wrote books, started podcasts, made YouTube videos, commented in Facebook groups, and were willing to respond to my phone calls and emails. We are so grateful that there are so many people who are willing to openly share their experiences because we can draw on their experiences to help us continually learn and grow.
