We had the good fortune of connecting with David Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to establish something that had my fingerprints all over it and to show my children that you can be your own boss and be successful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others? What set me apart I believe is my energy during each session. I also make my images speak to you.

What you are most proud of or excited about?
I’m excited about the journey to the top.

How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
Determination to be successful and a lot of practicing. It was not easy and still not easy. I had to overcome my fear of failure and trust in my abilities.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way? Ask questions, watch YouTube, and think outside the box.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want people to know when you hire me as your photographer….. you’re getting a highly motivated individual that will give his all in every image to make sure you look your best. Your images will be beautiful and impactful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely go to downtown Charlotte (uptown) to catch a hornets or panthers game. Hit up several restaurants to try everything, take in the city lights, and interact with people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I want to send a special shout-out to my family and friends. Thank you for all the support and love that you have given me during this journey.
