We had the good fortune of connecting with Darius Wells and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darius, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business came about once I hit a moment in my life truly understanding what I am actually good at. Finding something that I generally love to do in which I can help other businesses along the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a creator who works in front of as well as behind the camera. As active talent still working in the entertainment industry, I am able to shoot and edit my own content professionally. That is what sets me apart from others.

I got to where I am today by taking risk, more risk, and even more risk. My success came from my determination and will power to succeed, even when those around me didn’t see the vision.

Nothing worth having in life comes easy. You will have to sacrifice something to become successful. Whether that is your time, living situation, or even your family/friends.

From all of the challenges that I faced, I had to learn patience. From the old saying “If you hang around the barbershop long enough, sooner or later you are going to get a haircut”

I would want the world to know that this business I started was never about me. I created it to provide opportunities for others and the future generation to come. This is why I am rebranding into my new business named Vitality Entertainment “Where Energy Meets Creativity”. I will be growing this from rock bottom into a Fortune 500 company.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a filmmaker who has been through the struggle I have to say hit up Tyler Perry Studios! Going there is an inspiration alone, knowing his story and how far he has come to achieve success!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a shoutout to the United States Marine Corps. If it wasn’t for this organization and the men and women I served with, none of my success could have been possible.
