We had the good fortune of connecting with Dar Stellabotta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dar, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe one of the main important factors is the videos I create and put on social media. This outlet puts my music in front of people in a visual as well as musical way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With my cigar box guitar music, I use a cigar box guitar I built. By doing this people see how my guitars sound and if they like how they look and sound they have the option to buy a cigar box guitar.

In the cigar box guitar scene there are not many females out there building guitars, so I guess this makes me stand out.

In 2019 I did a successful Kickstarter to fund my first vinyl record. The album is called “Lo-fi Rejection.” I had 250 copies made and I am sold out at this moment. In 2019 I did a U.S. tour as well as a Netherlands tour.

The lesson I learned about any artistic endeavor is you just have to do it. Forget what the haters say and go for it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I live in Maryland. It depends on what time of year it is but I would def take them to the beach to go surfing, visit the Baltimore Aquarium then go get five New Yorker sushi Rolls from Tsunamis in Annapolis.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
William Nijdam. Without Will I would have never toured the Netherlands or visited Africa. All it took was this one person to find one of my videos on facebook to make this milestone happen.
