Meet Danielle Turner | Self-Care Advocate/Licensed Clinical Social Worker/CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2023 I took a wellness break and traveled to Bali. It was such an amazing and spiritual experience. I felt rejuvenate, rested, motivated and ready to tackle the world when I got back home. I wanted other women to feel the same way. See, I love to travel, and I am passionate about self-care. My whole brand is about the positive impact self-care has on women. So, I decided to add the two things I love, travel and wellness together and create wellness events and retreats for women. As a mental health therapist, I understand the value of self-care and holistic wellness. I want other women to experience wellness of their mind, body and spirit while having fun, experiencing different cultures and having a community of other likeminded individuals who are also ready to shift their mindsets and elevate their self-care.

What should our readers know about your business?
Inner You Wellness Retreats brings holistic wellness to women through international and domestic retreats. We also offer wellness brunches and spa days with collaborating spa owners. My work as a self-care advocate is a passion and brings me joy to be able to plan wellness events and retreats that speak to women, nurture their souls and build community. Even though I am proud of all my accomplishment and the work I do in the mental health field. my work in self-care is what I am most excited about.
Inner You Clinical Services LLC is a group mental health practice where we provide therapy services to adults, children and families in the state of Connecticut. I love what I do as a therapist helping individuals move through mental health challenges. My team of licensed therapist of color work with individuals to help them achieve balance, peace and inner harmony. As the host of The Purple Butterfly Podcast, I am able to use my voice to help others with weekly expert guest on wellness, self-care and mental health.
The Inner You brand started because I wanted to have a space where individuals of color could feel safe to explore their traumas and heal. I wanted to create a space where individuals feel heard, seen, understood and validated. What sets my brand and myself apart is the relatability. I have experienced my own struggles with mental health and lack of self-care. I know what it is like to be in a dark space and feel alone. I give my clients the same blueprint I used to move out of the darkness and build a positive life of peace and inner harmony.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend comes to visit in the summer, we go to Aquilia’s Nest Vineyard and sit by the fire pit. A road trip to Rhode Island to hit the beach is a must. Going to Foxwoods Casino for shopping, dinner and fun is always on the agenda. Eating at the local black owned restaurants in town is always a go to. Spending time with friends and family for game night is a must.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to all the women who are a part of my tribe. To the women who keep me motivated. To the women who support me. To the women who trust me to help them on their own self-care and mental health journeys.
