We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Lorentz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Anyone who says they are the only way, or they know everything you’ll ever need and you won’t succeed without them is someone you should avoid at all costs. The best examples I’ve met in the industry have been people who admitted to not knowing everything, and I’m eternally grateful for those people for letting me know it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always loved performing, and I decided to do theatre as my career when I was 16. Combining music and theatre was what brought me the most joy, in choosing to major in Musical Theatre, and focusing even more on my voice came soon after once I started voice acting and narrating audiobooks. Money and stability has definitely been the most difficult, as well as faith in myself, but my friends and family have made me feel capable and talented every step of the way.

I want others to try. You never know if something can work unless you try, and if you fail, at least you know you failed big and you tried something new. All of this was big and difficult, and continues to be, but if I’d never tried, I don’t know where I’d be right now. So I encourage everyone: try.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, we’d spend a lot of time with my found family, the close friends that lift me up. We’d probably go bowling, or maybe sing some karaoke, or just have a game night together getting to know each other better. I’d probably bring her to my friends’ pool, maybe go swimming with everyone one day. I don’t do a whole lot of “going out” honestly; most of the time, I’m happy to just be with my husband and my friends, so I’d probably just take her wherever they wanted to go. As long as I’m with them, it’ll be a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Samuel Ginn, deserves a ton of credit for supporting me at every turn. My family, specifically my parents, have always made me feel capable and strong. My close friends: Colten and Mimi Bobo, Tyler Webster, Rick Harper, and John Brooks have also been an incredible support system for me. And Ron Anderson, for making failure feel okay and recovery even better.
