We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Desroche and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I am a naturopathic doctor specializing in PCOS, fertility, and Hashimoto’s. I began my private practice in the height of the pandemic, and have continued to work with my patients virtually. I was finding many women coming to me in their early to mid 30’s, ready to start a family but not being in the health to do so. Many of whom were told IVF was there only option but felt they weren’t ready for such an invasive and expensive next step. I quickly saw the power naturopathic medicine held when it came to supporting these women and allowing them to not only get in control of their health, but get pregnant naturally.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I found my way into medicine first through a career in professional ballet. During my time as a dancer I developed an eating disorder and autoimmune condition (Hashimoto’s) that left me with severe hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, and inflammation. In an attempt to heal myself I decided to study nutrition at the University of Vermont, where I first herd the term”naturopathic medicine”. After looking into the philosophy behind this medicine I immediately fell in love with the whole body, root cause approach. I loved that this medicine takes a more proactive, preventative approach compared to the conventional medical system. Following medical school I completed my residency in primary care, specializing in women’s health and pediatrics. I quickly realized how little education and support was given to women when it came to understanding their body and fertility. I decided to make the leap into private practice in 2022, working with my patients virtually so that any woman, not matter where she lived, could have access to this type of medicine. Today I often work with women who have struggled with PCOS for over a decade, have suffered multiple miscarriages, or have been told IVF is their only option. Together we are able to optimize their health, allowing them to not only get pregnant, but feel their most energized, vibrant selves.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I spend most of my mornings teaching private pilates sessions in Virginia Highlands, so I would start there with a quick class. Then we’d head to Muchacho for a matcha and breakfast tacos followed by a long walk or scooter on the beltline ending at Piedmont Park. For dinner, The Optimist or BeetleCat is a must.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success is measured by the success of my patients. Their dedication to their health and trust in me and this medicine has allowed me to support them on their health journey and grow my practice through word of mouth.
