We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Peel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniela, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The untimely passing of my mother in June of 2017 was the catalyst that birthed The Heal Well Collective. It was a myriad of a lot of different life events that ultimately birthed my business. God downloaded the name of the business in my Spirit. Between 2013 and 2017 I experienced my parent’s divorce literally a year after mine was finalized, my grandmother passed away, Uncle had a tragic fatal accident, Aunt was battling cancer, and another Aunt had a stroke. During this time I discovered I was adopted (my mom was my biological mom, the man that raised me was my adopted dad-step dad), estranged from my dad after he divorced my mother (step dad, who adopted me), I located my biological father, 2 half-brothers, and found my biological sister 2 years ago, who was given up for adoption at birth. I always like to say that 2012 was my transformative year, as it set in motion my entire process for healing, forgiveness and re-discovery as a woman and individual. As I pulled up my sleeves, sat in the uncomfortableness of divorce (2012) and what life has thrown at me, it was time to do the real work to heal, forgive and love myself, which is an ongoing process. My journey is not any more unique than the next woman, I genuinely have a passion for helping women. I express care to, for and about women by sharing my own personal experiences and stages of revelation and healing to encourage their own healing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Thru The Heal Well Collective I am most excited about helping women be intentional with their healing thru self-care of their spirit, mind and body. The Heal Well Collective provides women resources and curated events assisting them to achieve wholeness together in a safe and nurturing community to thrive, heal well, achieve wholeness and overcome adversity. I am a certified professional coach that helps women live in intention. I am most grateful that my journey put me on the path of transformation, re-discovery of my faith and eventually God revealing His purpose for my life which is to help other women. My purpose is to share my healing journey and encourage other women to begin theirs by wellness retreats, which offers professional women to take a break and connect with like-minded individuals, coaching, and events where allowing women to connect and grow.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love to brunch and have rooftop outings. We typically will Google the latest and hottest places for brunch and rooftops and will visit those. We also love to visit wineries. It’s nothing for us to put together a winery outing with a driver, grab the tribe, charcuterie boards and custom swag bags for the girls. We love creating experiences.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a lot of amazing people in my life that I am grateful for. Having faith in God, is the most essential and intentional relationship in my life first and foremost.
In 2013 after 35 years of marriage, my parents got divorced. My dad served my mom divorce papers on my birthday. During their divorce I discovered the man that raised me most of my life was my adopted/step dad. Through a mutual friend I was introduced to Dr. Torri J. Evans-Barton, founder of The Fatherless Generation to help me locate my biological father. Unbeknownst to me I would be locating not only my biological father but two half-brothers and learning about my biological sister who was given up for adoption. If it were not for her and her organization, The Fatherless Generation I would have never found my biological father and half-brothers.
I would have to thank Marite Schulte-Trux, who was instrumental in locating my biological sister, when I had no name, birth date, any pertinent information to locater her on my own. I was able to meet and reunite with my sister Katja for the first time November 2021.
My son, who is my biggest supporter. I’m also grateful for my tribe of women who have consistently held me down, prayed for me, supported me, been my accountability, and loved my son and I. I’m fortunate to have a core group of women (besties and women from my women’s small group at church) who have been present and a part of my journey and continue to be. Through community we achieve wholeness together.
