We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel T Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel T, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue a creative career because I love expressing myself through singing and songwriting. I love the response that I get from my friends and family when I share my music. I’ve unlocked new parts of myself that I didn’t even recognize over the years. Singing and writing songs brings me so much peace and I write things that are personal to me. All I’ve ever wanted to do was sing the songs I wrote for millions of people.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is bright, relatable and authentic. I would compare the emotion of my music to a rollercoaster. There is so many unique elements to my songs. I create them in a way that evokes emotions from the listener. I love to create an honest experience, almost like a one on one conversation. What sets me apart is I’m not trying to make something trendy. I create from my own experience. I like to invite listeners into my energy and on my frequency. I think it’s better to let things be natural instead of forced or because of popularity. I got to where I am today by writing from my heart. The challenges I faced is overcoming self doubt and rejection. I learned to release the parts of myself that self sabotage. I’m allowed to be seen, heard and passionate. The lesson I learned a long the way is, you have no control over life. Live in the moment. Live boldly and courageously. What I want the world to know about me is I have so much to offer creatively. I pray someone connects to the authentic but sometimes weird version of me through my music.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would take them to the zoo. I’ve been wanting to go to the zoo for a while and it’s at the top of my vision board. Lately, I’ve been wanting to be outside and in nature. When I was younger, I visited the zoo and there was souvenirs I wanted but couldn’t afford. That memory always stayed with me. From that day forward I’ve always made sure I could afford to get the things I wanted.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my mom Sandra Robinson & my sister Tiara Mason. They are my biggest supporters! I would not be where I am today without them! My mother prays for me and with me. Her guidance means everything to me. My sister is one of my biggest cheerleaders and she never lets me give up. She is always encouraging me and giving me new ideas. I am so thankful for my family!
