We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Goldberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I never feel more alive; more like myself, or more able to communicate. Then when I make music. There’s this beautiful energy that gets generated by music, and it connects us all in this way, that is just magical. And to be able to create that energy, and share it with others. Is absolutely the greatest gift of all.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what makes me different is my voice and that I don’t necessarily stick to the same genre. I love to cross genres and use influences that may not normally go together. The first album, “Electric Soul” was a combination of Soul, Rock, Funk and EDM. With Pop and Hip-Hop elements sprinkled in. The new body of work thats on the way is more in the Lo-Fi Synthwave Vibe, mixed with Pop, R&B and Reggae. With elements of Trap. I call myself an Electric Soul artist for this reason. Cause for me its more about the meaning of the song and the emotion it provokes, than having one consistent sound.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the things that is so awesome about Atlanta and the sourounding areas. Is all of the different communities with their own unique vibes. There’s way too many places to list them all. I’ll just highlight some of my favorites. Downtown Atlanta- Catch a comedy show at Laughing Skull. Burger at Vortex. Edgewood- Have a beer at the Georgia Beer Garden. Pinball at Joystick Virginia Highlands- Late night karaoke at 10 High. Decatur- Music at Eddie’s Attic. Dinner and a cocktail at Leon’s. Beers at Brick Store. O4W-A Cuban sandwich from El Super Pan. Beer at New Realm. Cocktail at Tiny Lou’s Midtown- Piedmont Park, music and food at Park Tavern.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been so lucky to work with incredible creators my whole career. Recently I have been working on a lot of new music. So big shout outs to producers, Mikey Phats, Another Monster, and Rederick. All of them have been awesome to work with. Thier incredibly gifted producers, and the quality of their work, pushes me to be the best that I can be. They each have allowed me the space to explore and experiment. As a singer, Its so important to have people around you that will let you try things, and not stunt your creativity. Mikey and I just released a new single “Space Dance” in November. And soon Rederick and I will be releasing a single called, “Rain.” And we have a lot more releases on the way.
