Meet D’Angelo Weston | Wardrobe Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with D’Angelo Weston and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi D’Angelo, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was to at first just help a friend that was running for Miss Alabama State University. I was nervous at first, but my friend & I both knew how bad I wanted to start styling people, but just never put myself out there because of nerves & doubt. Plus, I really love fashion & once I styled her for her shoot & a few events & started styling other people, It was confirmed that I had the fashion bug. You know the passion & love you get for something when you realize you like it or it makes you happy. Well providing fashion styling services to help people with their image or aesthetic makes me happy & smile. It’s something that I can truly say I enjoy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, Weston$tylez is a fashion styling service that offers styling services such as wardrobe styling, personal styling, & virtual styling. Wardrobe Styling meaning helping with client’s image, aesthetic, or appearance at photoshoots, movie sets, and events. Personal styling meaning making mall visit for clients or typically helping more with everyday wardrobe challenges.
Virtual styling meaning myself and the client connect via zoom or social media so I can help with their fashion needs, I provide styling services to help people with their overall aesthetic.
I got my start by styling one of my friends & it resulted in her becoming Miss Alabama State University 2019-2020. I’ve gotten where I am right now by staying focus, working hard, connecting & networking with people. You know, just trying to put my self out there more & let people know my name & the services I provide. It’s hard & definitely can be discouraging especially when the likes & money are not coming in like how you would want it to, but I love what I do & I don’t see my self giving up no time soon.
I really wouldn’t considered my self to be have reach my ultimate level of success just yet though. Of course, I am happy with where I am, but I do believe I have much more to go & much more to learn & experience & many more things to accomplish on my road to success. I am super happy with what I have accomplished & just know that I could do more. For now I’m just still reaching out to people & networking & finding my path through life & defining what’s success means for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
. So when we visit each other we do brunch , you where we can go hear music & drink mimosas. Also, idk it’s just depends because I’m not really a big party person or anything like that. Usually, I’m so focus on my job & career that I don’t really do much. Let’s just say I love brunch & when me and friends hang out brunch is mostly always included & we plan the rest of the day as we go.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course, I would like to shout out my mother & grandmother they both are amazing people in my life & most definitely when I think of them, they are the reason I stay focus on my dreams & goals. Unfortunately, my grandmother is no longer with us. She passed in 2016, but she always reminded & encouraged me to reach for the stars & that “I can do whatever I put my mind to” as she would say. Also I would like to shoutout those supportive friends & other supportive family members that always encouraged me. Also, those mentorship & internships that gave me the opportunity to evolve & learn more about the fashion industry. I’m still open to to be under mentorship because it’s always good to sharpen your skills & gain more knowledge. I’m very thankful for those internship & mentorship & I have much further to go on this journey to success.
