We had the good fortune of connecting with D’Angelo Amori and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi D’Angelo, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decision I’ve made that contributed to my success has to be my willingness to be open-minded and explore. I NEVER want to be categorized, I refuse to limit myself to the possibilities that the world has to offer. There’s so many aspect of the world and I want to grasp as much as possible when it comes to what is meant for me! So with this important decision I also knew continually seeking education and experience would be another factor that would contribute to my success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Amori Angels is the official name of my Fashion House, currently I am into fast-fashion however, I’ll soon dive into haute couture and luxurious lifestyle clothing. Amori Angels deprived from my first and middle name, which I am constantly reminded of my divine purpose and angelic support for my path. I am a business, much of my time and focus goes towards expanding my knowledge and experience in the world of business. I am extremely excited to graduate college and start collaborating with some fashion industry icons like Naya Ashley, DRushing, Jayda Cheaves, and more.
I am extremely proud that I have participated and orchestrated 3 Fashion shows and 3 Entrepreneur showcase at my university. The University of West Georgia has provided me a platform but allowed me to extend opportunities to other student entrepreneurs, models, creators, and etc. My business-sense came from my mother a true go-getter, as a single mother she made sure her children never went without; rather this meant working overtime, learning a new skill, or starting a new hustle she did not lack providing for us. I found much inspiration in her work ethic and decided that I have to create a tangible and sustainable resource for our generations to come!
They world should know that D’Angelo Amori is here and preparation behind the scenes has only halfway prepared me for what is to come. Some lessons I’ve learned would be patient, when it’s your time it’s YOUR TIME but you better be ready!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I am in Atlanta, the places to consider eating would be Waffle House, Slutty Vegan, and Nikola’s Roof for dinner vibes. When it comes to a night on the town, we have to stop by Sovereign Sweets might catch your favorite celebrity there or CRU for the lit vibes. Of course, we have to go to Cascade on a Sunday night for some throwback fun, it’s inclusive if for fun if you don’t skate, it’s cool seeing others skate. Finally, to relax going to Stone Mountain midday to walk some trails and catch the sunset would create a soothing ambience of the weekend.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, shoutout to God! Nothing is possible without the love and support of my creator! Secondly, shoutout to my family who has seen me grow into the individual I am today and becoming! Shoutout to everyone who has supported and shown me love in anyway rather on my different business ventures, helping with resources and opportunities, and the University of West Georgia for helping me expand my platform. Organizations like African American Male Initiative, Presidential Blue Coats, and Richard College of Business has contributed much to my personal and professional growth. With honorary mention, JJ, the owner of Unique Folks Only brand for extending this opportunity as well. Much love to all!
