We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dana, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is a little cheesy, but I love it and I try super hard to live by it. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says “I’m possible ” Audrey Hepburn. This quote is so important to me because the world can train you to be complacent. I appreciate the quote because its simple but true.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Cutting and coloring hair are my specialities and I would say my humble attitude sets me apart from other stylists. The hair industry can be obnoxious and egotistical. It’s important for me to stay grounded and focus on my clients’ needs. The largest lesson I would say is trust my gut. The worst thing is to start a color job or perform a haircut that you know won’t be right for the client.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I love food, shopping and the outdoors. I love trying foods from different countries so I would take my friend to Doraville for El Salvadoran pupusas, Midtown area for pho, Korean BBQ, southern BBQ and some good ole slutty vegan. I’m a thrifting psycho so we will visit all my favorite consignment shops and in Chamblee and then make our way through the buckhead to visit “Labels and the Buffalo Exchange off ponce de Leon ave. There’s so much to see in Atlanta. I LOVE art! I.would have to show my friend the beltline because the trail has beautiful views and beautiful art.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I had to give anyone credit for my story, it would definitely be my kids. I would say my son Rocco gave me strength and determination and my daughter Garnett gave me compassion and kindness. I’m so thankful for them, they inspire me to work smart and stay focused on my goals everyday.

Appreciate you more than you know. I would like to thank Stacy for the photoshoot. It was last minute but you wouldn’t know looking at the photos. You did an amazing job and I had a blast shooting with you. Thank you. Last but not least my friend Jana Mitchell. She recently started helping me with my social media and it couldn’t look better.
