We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Hanna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dana, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Two come to mind:

1. “Jump and the net will appear”-
I’ve lived my life this way. I’ve seen how so many people can remain stagnant because they’re not sure what to do next. I can probably be called “impulsive”, but I’ll figure it out as I go along. I don’t have the patience to overthink things!

2. “Things are always working out for me”, by my favorite, Abraham Hicks.
I TRULY believe this, even if IN THAT MOMENT, it may not seem like it. I’ve looked back way too many times at how things are truly working out for me!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After being in this industry for over 15 years, what I love best is all of the lifelong connections I have formed. The genuine, caring people I have met.
We always hear about the “fakes” and the “sharks”, so I just want folks to know there are REAL people out there if you continue to be a GENUINE person yourself!

Advice to the “newbies”: HAVE FUN!!! Don’t take everything so serious in this business. ENJOY THE RIDE!

Create BALANCE!!! Have REAL experiences that you enjoy outside of your acting/entertainment career. It will make you more well-rounded and give you a bigger tool box to pull from. Expand your world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly I’m a fan of “go where the fun is”, which isn’t necessarily in the city I live in. I’ve traveled to Miami and N Carolina just for a comedy show; to LA to catch an awesome play or workshop; to New Jersey for an awesome concert… And PEOPLE WATCH every where, because each region has something to teach you (and more tools for your toolbox!)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Tough question! There are MANY, many people who deserve recognition in my story. I guess I’ll start with my immediate family. My mom, sisters, kids and several others have always made me feel like a “star” and like I’ve already won. They’ve ALWAYS cheered me on and have believed I’m just as good as an many others they see regularly in movies/ on tv! No one has ever laughed at or doubted my dreams, even still till this day, over 15 years later O_O.
