We had the good fortune of connecting with Damita and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damita, how do you think about risk?
Without risks, there’s no evolution nor opportunity for success. You have to be confident in your artistry, brand, and or business. You have to be willing to endure trial and error in order to grow and learn and with that comes taking many risks. You can’t be afraid of “failure”. The only failure is remaining stagnant and giving up on your dreams, but if you’re willing to take the risks of “just doing it” you’ll find endless opportunities. Throughout my career, risk-taking has played a major role in my life. I take risks whenever I perform, walk into unfamiliar spaces, or release new projects. Everything is all uncertain. Will the rest of the world receive the authentic, vulnerable parts of me, my artistry? It’s frightening, but I’ll never know the impact I’ll have if I never take the risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a multifaceted artist; rapper, singer/songwriter, and aspiring actress from Decatur, GA. What sets me apart from other artists is my authenticity, ability to be vulnerable and genuine in my artistry, and versatile Southern sound. I can honestly say I’m proud of every single or project I’ve released thus far knowing without a team nor management I’ve been able to successfully accomplish what I love. Creating music. Set aside from music, I’m excited and I look forward to growing as an actress. As of today I’ve been apart of minor projects and background, but my goal is to not only land major acting roles but to also become a screenwriter and produce my own films. The journey hasn’t been easy and I’m certain I’ll face more adversity in the near future. To accomplish any goal in life, a connection with God, manifestation, resilience, and discipline, is key. Those core factors are my foundation and the fuel behind what drove me to where I am today and continues to drive me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What’s not to do in Atlanta? If my best friend were to visit Atlanta the first activity I’d have us experience is a rooftop lunch at Sky Lounge or Nouvea Bar. Other restaurants we’d absolutely have to visit during their duration are Blaze, Two Urban Licks, and Mustache Hookah Bar. We’d register for a yoga class, a dance class, take a hike up Stone Mountain, and go for wine-tasting and a massage at Château Elan. We’d explore the city visiting places like the local parks and museums. I’d also have us partake in some fun at either Your 3rd Spot,Top Golf, Andretti’s, a theater, or the Battery…..all in no particular order.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout my family and friends for all the love and support over the years. I love and appreciate you all!!
