We had the good fortune of connecting with Damien Gaddis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damien, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
If you have faith and truly believe in something, then you should always keep going and never give up. People won’t see the vision right away. You have to keep pushing forward, and put yourself in a position to make people see it. Hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like my dedication and perseverance is what sets me apart from most. I started my music career back in 2019, after watching my friends rap over beats on YouTube and talk about trying to make it in music. I was inspired by them, so I decided to pursue it myself. I come from a small rural town an hour away from Atlanta called Winder. Being from a small town makes you have a target on your back when you want to make it out. It makes it that much harder to break out and shine. Ever since I took my Rap career serious, I’ve lost a lot of good people who I thought was there for me. In the end though, they taught me to never let up and watch who you bring around. People will only be around you for their own benefit. You have to stay true to yourself and focus on where you want to be in life. Once I did that, my vision has been setting in place. I recently just performed for my first time at the First Annual Sharklato Showcase. It was a huge opportunity for me. I’ve had people congratulating me ever since. I’ve always made music for myself because I liked it. I never cared about what other people think. To see that people actually like my music outside of my city was everything to me. I want everyone to know that as long as you believe in yourself and put in the work, then you’ll always succeed. Even if you don’t succeed in what your doing, you’ll still succeed in your heart because you know that you gave it your all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them over to The Craxkhouse and get some Craxkgrapes. The Craxkhouse is my favorite place in the city, They have done everything in order to put on for Atlanta. They represent the grind and success one can have in the city if you work hard. Rest In Peace to Craxkgod, one of the founders who recently passed away. Another key place I would take them is the Krog Street Tunnel. I feel like you can’t come to Atlanta without seeing the artwork in the tunnel. The city is notorious for its artwork and tourist attractions. You gotta go visit Centennial Park and all of the surrounding attractions.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give thanks to God first of all, without him none of this would ever be possible. Shoutout to all of my friends and family who have supported me and pushed me to be the best that I can be. And finally shoutout to my brother for life, Yung Tay. Ever since I started my music career, Tay has been there to mentor me and push me to go harder. He has seen my vision from the start and has helped me tremendously to be where I’m at today. I definitely couldn’t of done any of this without him by my side.
