We had the good fortune of connecting with Dalton Rice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dalton, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always new I didnt want to work a traditional job. I went to SCAD to be a creative person and in doing so found that i enjoyed freelancing and making my own destiny. I started my Photo and video business after just a year in college because I found myself passionate for creating things and controlling my own fate. I figured if Im gonna work hard at something I want to build it from the ground up and with my name and reputation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from other photographers and videographers is my 360 degree approach. I want to handle a project from start to end and I can have a team of people throughout the process. My network of creative people has allowed me to be able to make teams for projects that have absolutely stunned clients once they see the final project. I also think you will be hard pressed to find someone who cares about you more than I do.

its not always been easy, doing weddings we have slow times and busy times and I always find myself hoping that more booking come the next month. Fortuneatly now the business has grown enough and I am able to stay pretty busy thanks to my amazing couples who trust me on their special days.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To start off would be piedmont park, just so beautiful, and then you have to go to the art museum as its such a tranquil experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my mentor, boss and teacher vitor Lindo for teaching me how to be a great photographer and business man. I want to shoutout my bestfriend Ryan orebaugh for pushing me in all ways creatively and my parents Kathy and Mike for supporting me through school.
