We had the good fortune of connecting with Dakhari4o4 and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dakhari4o4, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Having the right mindset when one is faced with a challenge. There’s always going to be some kind of obstacle to over come. The key is break it down in to parts and complete each part one at a time. Don’t over step!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a all around artist/musician. For me that includes, recording, song writing , production, audio engineering, djayin, and playing the piano. My sound can be described as colorful, groovy, and infectiously energetic. I create music for outgoing people. People who like to hear familiar sounds in new ways. I went through many different styles and allies over the course of 12 years before discovering the artist I was meant to be. Dakhari4o4, my birth name and area code coming together to create the ultimate music machine. It’s been quite the journey. Many wins and many loses. I am here today because even though I often pivoted I never stopped. I never let the insecurity of watching others be successful determine my own success. I walked the path that was meant for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take them to my go to places of each corner of the city. I’d take them to Cascade/ West End and introduced them to friends and places of that community. We’d go down town for some of the most familiar parts of the city such as Piedmont, CNN Center, Atlantic station, and Ponce city market. We’d go towards the east side for Air loom, Lil 5 points, & East Atlanta Village. And most importantly I’d show them the Nightlife with spots like Cry Baby ,Underground Atl, MJQ, Lost Dog, and so many more!
