Meet Crystal Morris | Singer & Song Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, it wasn’t even my own desire per se. This was something that innately existed within me. Since I was a little girl I always would sing. I would sing around the house, at school, and at church really anywhere I had the opportunity, and I didn’t realize at that time that it was a gift. A gift that I would later have the opportunity to share with many others by way of song creation and singing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me a part is something people don’t often talk about and that’s pure motives. It is my life’s goal to magnify God’s name in the Earth, and not my own. I desire that people see and experience God above all. If he makes my name great, that’s cool, but ultimately it’s about Him and others getting an opportunity to truly encounter God and His goodness. I’m most proud that God did not allow me to become just another statistic. I am where I am today because of God and utilizing the gift He deposited within me. It was not easy, but my faith in God and the support system that I had in place wouldn’t allow me to give up. It really pays to be surrounded by the right people who help navigate hard seasons. I’ve learned most that you have to have a solid community of people coupled with hardwork in order to reach any level of success. A community that supports the vision of pushing God’s agenda above our own.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take the person to a great eatery such as Ruth Chris and Urban Smoke Bar and Grill. We would go Axe Throwing, bowling, Birmingham Rage Room, and hang out at a lounge Called Eighty Eight.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my mom. I appreciate the love and support she has shown me. She was the one who placed me in environments that helped me to become more aware of the gift within me. I’m forever grateful for that.
