We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Culbreth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cristina, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business as a photographer profoundly impacts both the community and the world by capturing moments that create lasting memories. Each photograph I take serves as a timeless reminder of love, joy, and connection, allowing individuals to reflect on and share their experiences with friends and family. By highlighting the beauty of life’s fleeting moments, I aim to foster appreciation for our shared humanity and encourage people to cherish the time they have together
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is rooted in the everyday, highlighting beautiful people and their passions within the context of their lives. What sets me apart is my energy and approach; I see myself as an extension of your family or team during our shoots. I thrive on connection, and I’m fortunate to have a large network that supports my work.
Photography has always been my dream. The emotional power of photographs resonates deeply with me. After my second son was born just as the country shut down for COVID, I chose to stay home with my two young kids. Instead of idling, I dove into photography—I read books, took courses, and dusted off my camera.
Starting my business was surprisingly easy, fueled by my mantra: “You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.” When I had creative ideas or wanted experience with families, I reached out to my network without hesitation.
However, I faced challenges, especially in a saturated market. To stand out, I dedicated myself to promoting my work on social media. It’s time-consuming, but it has led to incredible projects, making it all worthwhile.
One key lesson I learned is to never undervalue myself. In the beginning, I charged minimal fees, thinking it reflected my skill level. I didn’t recognize the countless hours I poured into my work, which often led to losses. Now, I confidently set prices that reflect my value, knowing that if someone doesn’t accept them, it’s a blessing in disguise.
As for what I want the world to know about my brand: I want to inspire others to cherish and celebrate their stories through photography. My mission is to create memories that capture the essence of life, fostering connections and appreciation for the beautiful moments we share.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Botanical Gardens
Bikes on the greenway or around the park
A scenic drive from the East side to the Northside to look at beautiful street art and residential architecture
Live music and drinks on the West end

Dinners on Buford Hwy (OTP)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mom, whose support has been vital to my journey as a photographer.
