Meet Corey Snowden: Actor/Screenwriter/Director/Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Snowden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corey, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Integrity. I’ve come to a place in my life and my career that I no longer care about what other people think of me. I am no longer concerned with following the crowd or being judged by not doing what everyone else is doing. I value my character. I value my beliefs. I know my voice matters, even if no one wanted to hear it. I know my story matters, even if no one wanted to see it. I have good intentions with every character I portray as an actor, every inspirational story I create with my screenplays, and every valuable message I wish to tell as a director. Keeping my integrity and my core values is essential.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I yearn to tell stories that matter. Whether that be from an acting standpoint, or me as a writer, or me directing a project. It falls back onto the word I started with: Integrity. Following the crowd and doing what others think I should be doing has plagued me for many years of my career and in life but I’ve finally come to a point where I know I can choose my own path. And everything that has happened, good and bad, has led me to be awakened to what I truly am supposed to accomplish in my life. And I choose a path that will inspire others, even if just one person finds a deeper meaning in one of my projects, my goal is complete.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Disney. Hands down, Disney World in Orlando. If it’s a week long trip and they wanted to do more than just Disney, then I’d follow that up with a trip to Universal Studios too and pick the best hotel that would have the most relaxing pool. Orlando is like another home for me and I’ve been to the parks so many times over the decades that I know just what fastpass to get, what ride to get on next, what restaurant to eat in, and how to navigate park to park travel so you can experience the sights and sounds that Disney/Universal has to offer. Restaurants would include Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom, one of the many Food N Wine Festivals at Epcot if it’s in season, visiting during Christmas we’d go to all of the events at all four parks and CityWalk seeing fireworks, parades, shows, and special ride displays. I’d probably make a pretty decent tour guide!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my friend, my mentor, and someone who has been with me at my worst and my best. My Shifu, Dominick Ruggieri, who trained me in Kung Fu and in life in general. We’ve fallen out of touch every so often due to me moving coast to coast but our stories continue to intersect with one another at different points in our lives. We continue to be drawn back together. I’ve known him since I just started high school and now fifteen plus years later we are still communicating, inspiring one another, and training together. So thank you Dominick. You have been a lifelong friend and inspiration for me. Thanks for still believing in me!
