We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Cochran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Major Label Marketing wasn’t just about launching a company — it was about solving a problem I kept seeing in the music industry.

Too many talented artists were spending thousands of dollars on promotion that looked good on paper but produced no real results. Fake streams, bot views, inflated playlists — it created the illusion of success without actually moving careers forward. I knew there had to be a smarter, more transparent way to help artists grow.

My thought process was simple: build a company rooted in real exposure, real strategy, and real outcomes.

I wanted to bridge the gap between independent artists and the level of marketing typically reserved for major label acts. Not every artist has a label budget, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have access to professional rollout strategies, radio opportunities, media placements, and legitimate audience growth.

Another big driver for me was control — control over quality, execution, and integrity. When you build something yourself, you don’t have to compromise on standards. Major Label Marketing was designed to operate with the discipline of a label but the agility of an independent company.

I also recognized that the industry was shifting. Artists today are entrepreneurs whether they realize it or not, and they need partners who understand both the creative and the business side of music. I built this company to be that partner — one that focuses not just on visibility, but on momentum and long-term positioning.

At the end of the day, I didn’t want to create just another marketing service. I wanted to build an infrastructure that artists and brands could rely on — something scalable, credible, and built to last.

Major Label Marketing exists because artists deserve more than hype… they deserve strategy.

What should our readers know about your business?
Major Label Marketing was built from a very clear vision — to bring real structure, credibility, and results back into an industry that had become flooded with shortcuts.

When I first started paying close attention to the marketing side of music, I noticed a dangerous pattern. Artists were investing serious money into promotion, yet very little of it translated into long-term growth. There was a lot of smoke and mirrors — inflated numbers, artificial engagement, and services that looked impressive but didn’t actually move careers forward.

I didn’t want to be part of that ecosystem. I wanted to disrupt it.

What truly sets Major Label Marketing apart is that we approach artist development with the discipline of a label while maintaining the speed and adaptability of an independent company. We focus on strategy before visibility — because attention without direction doesn’t create longevity.

Anyone can promise exposure. We focus on positioning.

I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built. In this industry, trust is currency. Artists and brands come to us because they know we are intentional about where we place them, how we market them, and how we protect their reputation while they grow. That responsibility is something I never take lightly.

Getting to this point was far from easy.

Building a business — especially in an industry as competitive and unpredictable as music — requires resilience. There were moments that demanded risk, long hours, and the willingness to bet on a vision before others could fully see it. Growth didn’t happen overnight, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to. Sustainable companies are built through experience, not shortcuts.

One of the biggest challenges was separating ourselves from the noise. When you operate with integrity in a space where many chase quick wins, it can take longer for people to understand your value. But once they do, the relationship becomes much stronger — because it’s built on results, not hype.

Along the way, I’ve learned several lessons that continue to guide how we operate.

First, reputation compounds. Every decision you make either strengthens your brand or weakens it.

Second, consistency beats intensity. You don’t need to be everywhere — you need to be effective where it matters.

Third, relationships still drive this industry. Technology changes, platforms evolve, but real connections remain the foundation of meaningful growth.

And finally, longevity should always be the goal. Anyone can create a moment — we focus on building momentum.

What I want the world to understand about Major Label Marketing is that we are not just another marketing company. We are architects of opportunity. We help artists and brands step into rooms they may not have had access to otherwise, and we do it in a way that supports long-term positioning.

Our story is still being written, but the mission has never changed: elevate talent, operate with integrity, and deliver results that actually matter.

Because at the end of the day, success isn’t just about being seen — it’s about being remembered.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d kick things off at Jewelz Bar because it perfectly blends nightlife, music, and atmosphere. It’s the type of place where you can feel the energy the moment you walk in — great DJs, people actually dancing, strong drinks, and a crowd that came to have a good time.

What makes Jewelz stand out is that it doesn’t try too hard. It’s naturally a vibe.

You can pull up dressed casual or step out — either way you’re going to fit in. The music is always on point, and the room has that rare balance of being upscale without feeling stiff. Whether it’s a themed night, a celebration, or just a random weekend, it always feels like something is happening.

For my friend, this would be night one — no easing into the trip. We’re starting strong.
