We had the good fortune of connecting with Coach Ayesha Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Coach Ayesha , what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process when I thought about starting a business is that I could take my education, my skills, my experience, and my passion, and make money. I wanted to utilize my skills, education and purpose to not only earn money, but work for myself! Being a single mom inspired me to push, push and push to work for myself. I wanted to have ownership of my own hours and schedule. In which allowed me to point more time towards raising my 2 sons. I realized that working at 9 to 5 was not in the plan, especially for single moms, working every day, trying to provide, and attending to the family. I knew I wanted to be there for my kids as they were growing, to become mature young men, especially in todays society. It’s nothing like managing your on daily work schedule and your pockets. Entrepreneurship allowed me to use my education and to turn it into income working for myself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I currently own and operate a Mental and Behavioral  health organization. We provide a host of social services for low income, families and high income families. Ranging from therapy, housing /food resources, case management etc. My company is a government contractor program or we do therapy case management housing resources food services career services in all foundations to lead and promote families with children to living well, stable and healthy in the community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest I don’t hang out. Getting out at time takes a lot because I get up early and hustle when many are sleep.  However, I do love a good daytime Atlanta Brunch spot, live jazz, or a nice museum.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I like to give much Thanks to my God.  In addition, to my mom for supporting my entrepreneurship goals as much as she knows how. When I graduate from high school I didn’t want to go to college, I just wanted to get a job. I just want to earn money. I didn’t want to do anything else I was finished with school; I was done I was done I was done. However, my mom was like no you’re going to college to get a higher education. That is exactly what I did. I went to college and received my undergrad degree from Morris Brown College, then my Masters from Capella University, and now working currently on my PhD at Jacksonville-along with many other credentials, skills, experience that I have in my backing. Most of all after GOD Thanking my 2 young adult sons Xenay and Xion for following with their mom along the journey with patience and understanding. Such blessings!
