We had the good fortune of connecting with Cierra Fly Bobo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cierra Fly, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from College Park, Ga. My mom had me when she was 16, and my father got addicted to drugs when I was a toddler. I watched both of my parents overcome those obstacles. They are my heroes, and they motivated me to be great in everything that I do. The passion that I have comes from my upbringing; therefore, everything I do I carry my parent’s legacy on my back.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am serial entrepreneur/creative. I am a Fashion Designer, Author, Founder of a girls nonprofit, and Nonviolence Trainer. I’ve been truly blessed to meet amazing people that contributed to my professional development, I contribute faith, relationships, and a consistent work flow to how I’ve gotten to where I am. There have been challenges along the way, such as the lack of resources. There were times that I needed resources to launch new merchandise or books, but I didn’t have the funding. I began to seek out wisdom on how to get capital or grants for my businesses.Along the way I’ve learned that although having a good work ethic is good, it’s vital prioritize rest. I also learned that no matter what your budget is never compromise the excellence of your product or service. Produce excellent service and products. I want the world to know that although I do multiple things, it’s all for the same purpose. My purpose is to empower people to be FLY (full of faith, love, and youthfulness) inside out. My nonprofit FLY Life allows me to create programs, curriculum, and events that empower girls 10-20 years to live FLY inside out. My trainers and books are strategically written to help people embodied internally everything that it means to be FLY. My clothing line June Marie Brand, is designed to help women style their identity and look FLY. I want the world to know they were created to be FLY and to fly above all obstacles.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting my area for a week I would take them a few places such as: Nouveau Restaurant in downtown Jonesboro for dinner, Lake Lanier to ride boats and mingle with some friends, Calloway Garden to go swimming and zip lining, Milk & Honey is downtown College Park for breakfast, Slutty Vegan on Edgewood for lunch, The Martin Luther King Center, a Braves and Atlanta United Game, and to World Changer Church International.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Pallena Foreman and Mike Lewis have been pivotal in my branding journey and life. Pallena is a celebrity make-up artist and Mike Lewis is a videographer/photographer who both have attributed to my journey for the last 10 years. They are both dynamic at what they do. I’m beyond grateful for them both.

Don Bobo was a vital resource for my clothing branding launches. He is the owner of The HSKG Brand. He taught me how to find manufactures, and give me countless nuggets of wisdom on how to become a successful clothing brand,
