We had the good fortune of connecting with Chyna Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chyna, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Habits I feel helped me succeed are journaling things down, visualizing the end results, researching, and sacrificing to name a few. In a nutshell, these habits combined allow me to push myself even when I have the smallest urge to give up because I know what I am working towards is an important goal, amongst many, I want to accomplish for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have two careers, modeling and I am an insurance company employee. I say this because even though Modeling is still a work in progress, the work I am currently doing is still part of my modeling career, there is just a further point I am striving towards.

What sets me apart from others is my way of thinking. Yes many may have an open mind to more things than others but I love to think of how I can improve an already amazing idea and make it more creative. Unique ideas intrigue me. In relation to modeling, I never loved the idea of just basic photoshoots such as typical cake and balloons for a birthday shoot. I would ask myself, what is a way to do a shoot that says its your birthday without saying it’s your birthday ? Lol. I research different ideas that come to mind, act on it, and deliver.

The journey to where I am today was definitely not an easy ride. I am from Maryland, so I was determined to move to Atlanta by the time I graduated if it was the last thing I did. I graduated from Morgan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management . I found a job posting for an internship here in the Atlanta area ,at a hotel, and applied. I got the job and the hotel provided shelter for me until I completed the internship. After networking, I got my insurance job. Aside from my 9 to 5, modeling is something I’ve always had a passion for and didn’t want to give it up so I decided to use my vlogging camera I had and took my own photos. I use whatever resources I currently have so my instagram is mainly my portfolio. I would always receive compliments on how professional/creative they looked, so I grew a passion for creative directing my shoots because it allows me to bring the visions I create in my head come to life. Pursuing my modeling career, I followed a lot of people on Instagram that had the same goals I did and met a few people who guided me on what to do to expand my exposure. I eventually met an amazing photographer, who I still work with that allows me to do whatever comes to my mind and I really appreciate him. As a plus, I am also working towards being an influencer, or I should say I am one. From being consistent on Instagram, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a black-owned/family operated skin care line called @bombdaesthtetics as a Brand Ambassador. This brand is amazing all around from the staff, to the products, the marketing, etc. Their products are vegan-based/cruelty free and vary from facial cleanser to shea butter, suitable for men and women. Definitely check out their instagram @bombdaesthetics or website www.lovebombd.com. — Although, I may get discouraged at times when I dwell on how I’m not where I want to be (who doesn’t) but I have to remind myself I am still young. Most importantly, always give yourself credit for what you have ALREADY accomplished.

The main lesson I have learned so far is that the only way you will get things done is if you do it yourself. Do not wait for anyone to do it for you. You will get so much further ahead in life.

What I want the world to know about my brand CHYNA MONE’ , which is myself , is that I am a woman of all trades. I model, dance, do makeup, graphic art, etc. If you don’t know my name or who I am, you will.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week long trip there are many places here in the city to visit. For my generation, we LOVE to brunch, so there are many brunch spots to choose from such as Breakfast at Barney’s, Suite Lounge, Atlanta breakfast club, Escobar, BQE, etc. For drinks I love to go to any good Mexican bar or social bars such as On the Border or Sports & Social which is located at The Battery. The Battery has a lot of amazing scenery that will be pleasing to the eye and for the experience. The Braves baseball stadium is located at the Battery as well which could be another fun activity to do. Some of the most exciting things to check out are the Georgia Aquarium, Trap Museum, Selfie Museum (So fun to have multiple photoshoots!), Roswell waterfall (for a nice, relaxing time while having a picnic or just enjoying the sounds of the water), just to name a few.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to every single person I have EVER had an encounter with in my 25 years of life, whether it is my parents, friends, enemies, coach, etc. I say this because each encounter has either taught me a lesson about myself and/or others in a positive and negative aspect or just simply played a part in the woman I am today and the woman I was before. I appreciate it all because without experience there is no growth ! Again, I thank EVERYONE.
