We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I’ve been pastoring, mentoring, leading and impacting for the past 17 years now. On top of all of that, I have had the honor of being a full time dad and husband. Starting out, trying to balance it all out was a challenge. It was trying to spend time at the church, scheduling time with the kids and family, then trying to balance my business at the same time. Trying to compartmentalize my life was proving to be too challenging. I personally don’t think that people who are extremely busy should try to balance. I believe in Intentional congruence. This concept is what I live out in my life today. It is the idea that everything should be moving in the same direction. Now, I have to find ways to include my family in what I do at church and in my business. In this way, I can still make money while spending time with the family! For me, it’s not balance but congruence!

What should our readers know about your business?
I have served as the founder and senior pastor of Zion Christian Ministries International, Inc for 14 years and I’ve birthed many other ministries as pastor. I am the team Chaplin for the MTSU football team and also the owner of The Greatness Coach LLC located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. As a entrepreneur, I’m the visionary for Marriage Camp, The Church Plus
Series, Developer of the 3T Leader, and I’ve authored four books. My books include, The Three T’s of Ministry, Man Made Men, A Life of Boundaries, and Pastor Plus. I am a motivator, mentor, and minister and my impact is felt by people both young and old.

What sets me apart has been my multi-faceted perspective about pastoring and being in business. This is what help me develop the “Pastor Plus” concept. I’m using my experience as a self-starter with an organization that started in my living room to over 600 and counting in 14 years. Zion Christian Ministries is one of the fastest growing churches in our city.

In 2019, I started The Greatness Coach, LLC. I wanted a way to use “all” of my skill sets and help others find “what else” they have to offer as well. Today, my business is growing because of my commitment to seeing people grow and develop. Being a business owner is not easy but anything worth while never is! I overcome challenges by seeing “challenges as opportunities”. In every challenge, there is something to learn. That is an opportunity for growth!

Along the way, I’ve learned to bet on “ME” every time. Sometimes, you have to create energy around your own business or concept. I’ve learned that people are as concerned about what you say or have said, as much as they are concerned about what you have done or doing!

Whether its in the area of Manhood, Leadership, Pastoring, or Entrepreneurship, I want people to know that I exist to motivate them to be great at it and push them to live, move, and think on PURPOSE!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t know if i’m answering this question right because I live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this to my late father Bishop T.P. Johnson Sr. and my mother Elder Ann Johnson. I stand on their shoulders and I’m continuing the legacy that they started!
